Yes - you can absolutely do a QR code, and in many weddings it’s now the preferred option.

The best choice really comes down to your guest list and how comfortable your guests are with digital tools.

An RSVP slip (traditional reply card + return envelope) is still lovely for older guests or more formal weddings. It feels tactile and familiar, and removes any tech barrier. The downside is cost (printing + postage) and slower turnaround.

A QR code linking to a wedding website RSVP form is much more modern, cost-effective, and gives you cleaner data (meal choices, dietary requirements, plus-ones, etc. all collected in one place). It also makes it easier for you to track responses in real time. For most couples, this is now the most efficient option.

A really nice middle-ground is to include both:

  • A QR code for the primary RSVP method
  • A small line underneath like: “Prefer to RSVP another way? Please contact us directly on 044...”

That way you’re not excluding anyone, but you’re still encouraging the streamlined digital process.

If your wedding leans formal or has a lot of older guests, you might still include physical RSVP cards for a portion of your invites and use QR codes for the rest - there’s no rule saying it has to be all one or the other.

Yes, we recommend RSVP as a separate card with a QR code, website link and/or contact details.
