who usually pays for the bridesmaids makeup?

In general, brides pay for the bridesmaids hair and makeup for the wedding and any makeup trials required. This is because the bridesmaid already has to purchase their dress and shoes and any accessories for the wedding - however there are no set rules and you can always negotiate a part payment from your bridesmaids. Weddings that are planned well ahead provide time for everyone to save up for the big day.

There are no hard and fast rules about who pays for what. I find these days it is just worked out between the bride and bridesmaids.

This is a really interesting question as quite often, especially in today's modern industry, the Bridesmaids have covered the cost for their own hair and makeup. However, there are no strict requirements for this, but traditionally Brides do front the cost for all Hair and Makeup. Sometimes Brides may choose to cover everyone's make-up but the cost for hair would be on the bridesmaids. The bridesmaids are normally the closest people to the Bride and would understand if she had a budget, so I personally believe it comes down to how well you understand each other and come to an arrangement which suits everyone without any hassles.

Most of the time the bride will pay for the bridesmaids. But I have had quite a lot of occasions the girls will pay for themselves, especially if it is a large bridal party.
