I say let them go with different styles as its ok they are always in same dresses just because their difference styles they still will look the part. Plus this may be a must if some one has fine thin hair and other girls have very long and thick... I say go with advice from pro's on this one they will say a few ways and can help you decide at trials

As of late, many brides choose to have their bridesmaids pick their own styles. Since she is the maid of honour, it would give her a point of difference having a different style from the others so I say go with it. If you always imagined that you would have matching bridesmaids in all aspects then get them to compromise. It’s your wedding after all. Good Luck : )

In my experience your bridesmaids can all have different hair and makeup that suits and compliments their face shape. Often different people have different hair types, which can also make it quite tricky to achieve the same look on all, i.e. if one has shorter fine hair it may be hard to put it up neatly or if one has dead straight hair and can't hold a curl, or one has curls that are hard to straighten. Typically it'll be the dresses that pull it all together.

You may also want to consider how much effort it'll take to achieve lots of different looks on the day and the time and cost involved?

If it's going to be very expensive and take up a lot of time getting them all ready, maybe discuss and agree some simple alternatives?

You don't want to be stressed on the big day because there are so many people to get ready and 'their' looks are challenging, at the end of the day, it is your big day and friends should be understanding and prepared to be flexible.

I hope that helps? Many thanks, Johanna

It can certainly still work if your maid of honour and bridesmaids have different styles.  Your hair stylist can work together with you all to create unique individual styles that will suit everyones preferences whilst still maintaining the look that you would like to achieve for your wedding day.

There is no right or wrong answer to your question as it is a personal choice by the bride to decide what she would prefer the bridesmaids to have. If you have an idea of what you want for them then it's your wedding so have every right t o make the choice.

The other thing that comes into this decision is what the girls are wearing; are they all wearing the same colour / style of dress? Having different hair styles can still work whether they have the same or different dresses and does allow a little of their own personality in their look (as long as you don't mind).

I would only suggest that no maid of honour or bridesmaid have the same style as the bride. It's your day so you need to stand out.

Hope this helps and would be happy to discuss further ideas at your convenience.

It can be a real challenge.  Everyone has their own preferences however a good hair stylist can modify a look to compliment different people while still maintaining the look you are after.  If you have a clear theme or image in mind then stick to that.   It really is up to you, it's your wedding after all.  Its not essential everyone has the same hair style but it is nice to tie it together with a theme

It can definitely work if they have different styles!  Although it can really tie together a wedding party with each bridesmaid having the same style, much can be said for the charm of each bridesmaid having a look that speaks about their personality and how they would normally look.

At the end of the day - it is your wedding, and a good friend should accept if you want to keep the styles the same - however you can work with your hairstylist to create different styles that all complement each other as a whole!
