A trial is an important appointment to guarantee your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible.
It isn't necessary but it is highly recommended to ensure both Emma and the bride can meet if they haven't previously, to play around with the style you're after and make some changes if necessary. It is also great to see if the style will need additional hair piece or padding to achieve "the look".
It's a time where we can discuss how the day will run, location, times, bridal party members and other important information for the day.
It's ideal to have you hair coloured a week prior to your wedding date.
it's also ideal to not have a fresh haircut as having softer ends will create a nicer finish.
The day before your wedding, shampoo twice really well, apply conditioner on mid lengths and ends, rinse really well.
apply a light leave in product and blowdry only.
DO NOT use any curling or straighteners on your hair.
Ensure you remind your bridal party members to wash and dry their hair the day before aswell.
Hair accessories for your wedding day depend on your style and overall look.
Hair accessories could include veils, hair combs, hair clips, tiaras, crowns, pins, hair extensions, hair paddings, floral designs (crowns or pins) or hair vines.
It's ideal to have your desired hair accessories for the hair trial.
This is personal preference!
In saying, from experience I find that a veil transforms your hairstyle into a BRIDAL hairstyle.
You do not need to wear it over your face, it can be worn for just the ceremony.

Wondering how far out before the wedding is best, but also, would like to use the trial to help me choose my suppliers.

I recommend booking a trial a month or two before your wedding to ensure your hair accessories have arrived to bring along and generally you have hair style ideas locked in. Trends change, if you book a year in advance, and do your trial then you may not want that look a year down the track.
I also recommend to brides if they wanted to come in for a wash and blowdry or another service to get a feel if I'm the right stylist for your wedding day.
