How much notice do florists need for cancellations?

The latest time possible to cancel our services would no later than 5 weeks prior to the wedding.

As this would be the time we would be placing the order for the flowers, if cancelled within this time your final payment would be refunded.

However you would forfit the 15% payment made at the time of booking. This fee is for the planning, design process and time the florist has committed to designing your wedding flowers.

One month's notice at least is best even sooner if possible.  You will lose the deposit though.

It depends on the individual florist/business but usually about a months notice is fair and your deposit won't be refunded.

2-3 weeks is reasonable, but you will usually not get back you non refundable deposit. Check with your florist and thoroughly read their terms and conditions before you sign on.

Each florist has their own cancellation policy that should be in the terms and conditions of your agreement. Fo us, we take a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and cancellation can take place at any time up until two weeks prior to the event date when full payment is required.  

It is important to love the florist you use and their style so if you have found one you like better I would look over your agreement with the intial florist and provide them with the neccessary notice. 

Let the florist know ASAP. In most cases the deposit is NON refundable. As you can appreciate florists can only take a certain number of weddings for the day and may not be able to re-book another wedding if you cancel.They may have already knocked back work for that day to ensure they give your wedding the attention you expect and deserve.

I would expect atleast 2 weeks notice so that I could also cancel my order with my wholesaler. Normally the deposit would be non-refundable as the florist may have knocked back other weddings due to the date being filled by yours. ( this depends on individual florists and their ability to take on several weddings on the same day) Given the time frame you may get your deposit back - depends on your florist. But talk to your florist and explain the situation - you may be able to change your mind about the style and the flowers with your original florist. You will find that most florists are approachable , adaptable and willing to work with their brides to make them happy !

It's probably best to let the florist no as soon as you can, so they don't order the flowers from the wholesalers, 2 weeks notice is good and yes they may be able to match the quote.

One month notice before wedding ok or as soon as you know is even better. Best to be honest. You would not get the deposit back.
