When is a good time to buy my artificial wedding flowers?

My florist said I don't need to book or anything. But I think I want to have them a couple of months before for piece of mind.

On Trend Bride

Hello Bride to be,

You  are definately correct to have them a couple of months before hand for your peace of mind.   Somethimes the suppliers need to order them in when they run out of stock.   And for the florist's peace of mind knowing that she / he has forefilled your wishes for your big day.

Wishing you & yours all the best.

Any recommendations on how to preserve wedding flowers after the wedding day?

On Trend Bride

Dear Bride,

When you have a meeting with your selected florist let her know your intensions of having your bouquet preserved and I am sure she could help you with this.  It is important to look after your flowers ie weather conditions and handling of bouquets.  After the wedding perhaps the florist will take your bouquet to a specialist in the field of drying and framing for you so you don't have to worry.  This will need to been done ASAP. Please also check on the cost as this may be a little expense you had not thought of.

Kind regards

I've seen some gold flowers on social media recently. Are they real?

They're real flowers, but are they spray painted or treated to be gold? How does that work?

On Trend Bride

Hello..........Dear Bride,

Yes they would have been real and sprayed with a special floral spray.  Can be used for focal points in any arrangement.

Kind regards

Can the florist give extra flowers for the cake and for hair?

On Trend Bride

Dear Bride to be,

I have done so many cakes with fresh flowers, which seems to be the go, this will blend in with the decor for the venue.  After you have a meeting with your selected florist you can both exchange ideas on flowers to be used for headpieces.

Kind regards

Is it possible to get peonies any other time of year other than November?

On Trend Bride

Dear Bride,

If you would like peonies any other time that spring - September - November you would be paying more for the import costs and it cannot be guaranteed they can be sourced.

Kind regards

How much budget to allocate to flowers for the reception?

Im just wondering what the average cost is? We will be holding 2 receptions in different countries so trying to be budget conscious but also don't want to be tight! price per table plus a centre piece? simple/rustic style.

On Trend Bride

Hello Amy,

As you are holding 2 receptions in different countries you have a lot to consider with the budget.  Take into consideration the venue everything will have to be in scale to suite.  Would be worth getting advise from a wedding designer  / florist and discuss your likes and dislikes first.  She / he will be able to give you ideas and approximate costs involved.  I meet with the bride and groom to ensure everything (flowers and costs) are to their liking.

Hope this is of help.

How fresh will my flowers be if I get married on Easter Saturday?

On Trend Bride

Hi Josie,

Your flowers should be fresh for Easter Saturday if you have chosen an experienced florist that can advise you on flower selection for different months of the year. And the florist will have picked the best flowers available and stored and prepared them before they are arranged for your wedding.  She will also give you information on how to care for them.

Hope this is of help to you and all the best for your big day.

What is the price range of bouquets?

What is the price range of bouquets?

On Trend Bride

Hi Everyone,

Every bride wants her flowers to look fantastic on her wedding day.  To answer the question on price depends on the Bride and Groom working together in consultation with their florist of choice.  Price will come down to choice of flowers you would like, be they fresh or silk flowers.  Price would ultimately come down to budget of the Bride and Groom and I can work with you to have flowers and affordability to your liking.

Thank you for your enquiry, and hope the above gives a little insight.

whats the price difference between real and fake flowers?

On Trend Bride

Hello,

Price difference between articial flowers and fresh is very little.  I feel it is a personal preference on what the bride wants cost rarely comes into it.  You can keep artificial flowers and is also lovely gift for the bridesmaids as well. The Bride could keep her for many years to come.  Fresh can also be framed after the wedding day and can be kept.

I personally do not go on cost it all depends on personal choice.

Hope this helps.

what's your favourite colour combo to work with??

On Trend Bride

Colour combination depends on the month of your wedding and you may have favourite choice of flower.  Natives - pink, creams, greenery seem to be the trend at the moment.  Love to help but colour combo is to think about your venue location, theme, weather, month, gowns.  So much to be considered.  It is the big picture of your and hubby's dreams.

if i want to keep my bouquet, should i not do a bouquet toss?

On Trend Bride

Your wedding, your bouquet, your choices.  It is a nice gesture on your behalf.  Mythe have it the lady that catches the bouquet is the next to get married.  A lot of florists will include a complimenty bouquet, so please enquire.

if i pick my own flowers, will they die during the day?

On Trend Bride

Could be a bit risky as the flowers should be in water for a number of hours with flower condition treatment.  Communicate with your florist of choice and discuss the type of flowers you are thinking of picking.

is there any way to keep my flowers looking fresh all day?

On Trend Bride

Your florist should have good quality flowers.  Give you instructions on flower care and no extreme heating changes.

how far in advance should i book my florist?

On Trend Bride

Hi,

Normally once you have your gowns selected then is a good time to look into your floral requirements as you will know your colour scheme and this helps the florist enormously. 6 - 12 months is the liking for a Florist.

Hope this helps you in planning one of the biggest days of your life.

if i know my dream flowers will give certain guests allergies, should i avoid them?

but i really want them :(

On Trend Bride

Hi,

You are a very caring and thoughtful bride to take this into consideration, however it is your day.

Have you thought about having silk bouquets and arrangements as they look so real.  You can keep your wedding bouquet for years to come and the bridesmaids you could let them also keep them as a gift from you to them. Very one will be happy and no allergic reactions.

What is the ballpark cost amount for wedding flowers for the bridal party?

Just a bridal bouquet plus a flower girl and two bridesmaids.

Should my bouquet match my centrepieces?

On Trend Bride

Pleasing to one's eye to have colour scheme matching throughout.  Also may be able to cut the costs when ordering your flowers.

Hope this is of help.

Real flowers vs fake flowers?

Why should i use real flowers as opposed to fake flowers if they're just gonna die anyway?

On Trend Bride

Yes you are correct real flowers do die after a few days,  or you can have your bouquets professionally framed to keep but would need to be taken as soon as possible the next morning for framing.   There are good quality artificial flower suppliers.  I love the artificial as they look so real these days and you have your flowers for years to come.  Ready before your wedding day so takes any stress out.

If my favourite flowers won't be in season on my wedding date, is there anything I can do?

On Trend Bride

Hello Elise,

If the flowers you would like are not in season for your wedding we can always see if we can import them but the cost of importing them could be a little more than you had originally expected. You could always go for the silk which look the real deal less the perfume. Hope this is of help to you.

How much does a flower crown normally cost?

On Trend Bride

Hi Annelise,

Cost of flower crown depends on size and flowers use.  There is a lot of wire and taping use and more time used than one realises.

Hope this helps.

What are the best flowers for a spring wedding?

Colour theme is yellow and white. I don't know my flowers very well.

On Trend Bride

Any topicals would go with yellow and white, nice fresh and springy.  Love the frangipani, spray roses and lilliums and dendrobe orchids are bright and fresh looking.

How much do flower bouquets usually cost?

On Trend Bride

The cost would be to suit you wedding budget.

DIY flowers

I'm looking into doing my own flowers for my wedding. Just wondering if anyone knows of wholesale flower sellers/places to get flowers in bulk. Preferably in Canberra or Canberra region

On Trend Bride

Hi Kirijoyce,

I am in Western Australia and not familar with Canberra Florists.  Good to see you are putting your talents to good use but I would seriously think of having a  florist to decrease any stresses that may come up and ensure you enjoy your "big day" with your hubby and family and friends.

I was lucky as a cousin did my flowers and she is very special to me.

I need help with for the best flowers to have for a summer wedding.

On Trend Bride

Silk flowers would be a good plan for a summer wedding in Perth and they look so real and you can keep them. Frangipani also keep well if well prepared. Roses are also available and need to be prepared and kept cool.

My suggestion would be silk but it is your wedding and you have what is reasonable to stay fresh.

How can I guarantee the type of flowers I want will be available?

I'm really set on having my favourite flowers as part of the floral arrangements on my big day. How can I be sure they'll be available?

On Trend Bride

Hello Saascha,

If you have your heart set on a particular flower I would consider a second choice unless you decide to go with silk flowers which look so real these days.  Also as your wedding is in March, one of the hottest months to hold a wedding in Australia.  Best to have seasonal flowers as it can cost to import in fresh flowers.

To ensure you have your hearts desire in choice of flower I personally would go for silk flowers, the silk flowers I use are quality silks that you can select.

Hope this is food for thought.
