Colour choice is not about weather or not your skin is pale or dark, it's more to do with your colouring being warm or cool. The quickest and best way to work out if you have warm or cool colouring is to tie your hair back and have no make up on your face and natural lighting, near a window is best. Hold up (just under your face) something large enough to cover what you are wearing and reflect onto your face in peach or apricot, then repeat the exercise with pale pink (blue based or icy, not creamy). if the peach makes you look healthy and your skin is popping (no dark circles under the eyes is a good way to tell) then you have warm colouring and should wear ivory, cream, blush/peach, warm latte's and nudes for your wedding. If the pink gives you a healthy glow you are have cooler undertones in your skin and you should wear white, off white, clear ivory(no yellow) ice pink, ice blue, latte (silvery base) oyster or dusty pink. We advise all of our clients on the most suitable colourways at their design consultation, perhaps if you find it hard to see yourself, book a time to try on gowns with a designer.

You can try with shades of pink like powder pink or lilac. For an outstanding and trendy result you could go also for light blues, soft greens and why not, ivory and champagne tones. Colors like these will totally bright your skin and your figure!

Every bride has different undertones and depending on their hair colouring, it is very hard to give a set answer for everyone.

Like you, every gown will be individual and colours per designer will vary.

I would reccomend to come in store so we can work with you to find your best invidiual colour.

I have found that an ivory bridal gown suits pale skin rather than a white gown . Champagne is good too. You can sometimes find gowns that have colour underneath the tulle skirt. My suggestion is to try on different coloured gowns.

We have an amazing bridal blush/ivory colour in our designer range that is very unique and many of our brides just fall in love with this stunning colour. It looks especially lovely on pale skin creating an elegant look. A pale complexion can look amazing with the right colour tone including the makeup as well.

You are absolutely right that pure white will wash you out. It usually looks best on women with darker features and tan skin.

If you are naturally quite pale, then you can try shades of ivory, champagne, beige, caramel or pale pink. It's also a good idea to find out your skin tone - cool vs. warm and then look for a dress in either cool or warm shade for the most flattering effect on your skin.

I think Bridal Blush ( shade of pink ) would look great. You could also try golden tones. Why not go for actual colour, say blue, would be gorgeous idea.

It is worth trying on various colors. so Champagne, Taupe,Caramel with Ivory laces. The Champagne comes in different depths and can be called various names. You may even like a pink tone, Really is best to go and try on various tones to see which you prefer as skin tones will change when various colors are placed on you
