This is a tough question in the end , it is the bride’s preference and what you feel more comfortable with. We would recommend taking your gown in it’s own carry-on case that is placed in the overhead baggage compartment. It runs the least amount of risk for damage and will be hidden away and protected for the entire flight. Your gown will also never leave your sight, so you will 100% know it has arrived with you (unlike checked baggage) and you are able to take it straight to you hotel rather. Please remember to always have a back-up plan in case things turn pear-shaped and ALWAYS get insurance. To have a look at all the options please see our blog at http://raffinatobridal.com.au/traveling-with-a-wedding-gown/
Definitely dont pack your dress into your checked luggage! You dont want to end up in Santorini and your suitcase arrive in Bali! Contact your airline and see if they can accomodate hanging it in business/first class otherwise folding it and placing in your over head compartment is a good way to keep it safe. Just dont let anyone put their bags in the same compartment! ; )
It will depends on the volume of your wedding dress. More slimline gowns will fit perfectly into hand luggage suitcase, I am talking the hardshell ones that are within prescribed rules of airlines. Folded carefully will travel well and in some cases you can put all your accesories, shoes and wedding underware with it. If your gown is of a fuller design then it will need to travel in it's dress bag and you will need to check with your airlines the best way to accomodate that. Most of the airlines are very understanding. I would not recommend puting you wedding dress with general luggage.
Depends on the airline
Most overseas carriers who have business or first class will allow your gown to be hung in that area of the plane
however if its one of the budget airlines eg jetstar they dont have hanging space in their planes
The other choice your gown can be boxed into special over head compartment bridal boxes which LDC Luxury Dry Cleaning can supply

Dear Bride
Transporting your gown should not be a problem.
1. Your retailer should provide you with a proper Cover Bag which most airline allow on board.
Once on Board hand to Stewart to hand in Coat closet.
or
2. Place in suitcase as luggage, but I personally do not feel that option is safe.
