Hello and Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Curvy figure is great in corsets that flutter the shape to show off your small waist and soft fabrics that drape around your body. I am a Couturier that works around body shape and proportions and I can fit almost any style to any shape but I always say you need to be comfortable to wear it. If you are looking for something in ready to wear start with gowns that have a waistline and try few different designs to get best idea what works for you. Avoid horizontal lines in the design, look for styles tha flow or are assimetrical. Be happy in your choice of the gown and remember wedding day is a long day so be comfortable as well to maximize the fun.

All the best wishes,

Curvy girls look great in many styles it will depend on what you feel comfortable wearing, fitted gowns will show your amazing curves off and a ball gown or Aline will emphasise your small waist. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable without feeling concious.

I recommend you try on all the styles first to find out what you love best then it will be easy for you to find your perfect gown, and don't forget to have fun with it :)

If you are curvy, I'm imagining you have an hourglass figure, smaller waistline, fuller bust and hips? If this is the case, the key to the perfect silhouette is to wear a fitted/corseted bodice which highlights your waist,(perhaps with a satin or beaded belt), and also slims down your bust and hips. The best neckline is usually V-shaped or sweetheart,a capped sleeve will balance with your hips.If the bodice runs longline and is shaped shorter at the front and longer at the back (never straight across the hips) then falls into an a-line skirt, this is the most flatering. If you choose fitted and flared, the more fitted the thighs are, the bigger your hips will look, this is great if you want to look even curvyer ,although ,generally I'd only recomend this for someone with out much difference between the hips and waist, who needs to add more curve. If you are small, try to keep the features on the gown either up near your face or on the bodice, alternatively a full lace gown also adds height, don't choose a style with lace or detailing only at the hemline, as this draws the eye downwards. if you make an appointment to go and see a designer, you'll get the best result, good luck!

The short answer - if you want to celebrate your curves fit and flare all the way!

The long answer - I think your style will come down to your confidence! What do you feel fabulous and comfortable in. Do you want to show off your curves or will you be more comfortable with something that hides hips or tummies??

Realistically you need to try everything on! Try fitted, try a ball gown try an A-line, something will always call to you, and then you can go about refining the details, do i like lace? do i prefer bling? what neckline do i want to wear?

Finding your sillouhette is the key to your success, have an open mind and fun with it and you'll find exactly the right fit for your body.

Best of luck finding your dream gown :)
