It all depends on you and your style and what sort of experience and memories you want to create on your special day.

Personally I prefer cocktail style weddings as it allows for your guests and yourself to mingle and talk to all of your guests. Sometimes this can be hard with a sit down meal as you have to make your way around to every table on the floor which amy only allow you to spend 2 minutes with that person.

Grazing tables allow for you and your guests to enjoy a bite to eat whilst also have the freedom to walk around, talk and interact with other guests as well as the bridal party.

The most popular food option with my clients is a cocktail style of service where guests are able to sample a variety of foods over and extended service period. This is obviously a more casual wedding environment and my not suit all who are looking for a more formal approach eg. formal sit down dinner or lunch.

FoodByWayne are happy to provide either service! (sit down, buffet or cocktail)

Hi

The cocktail food is an excellent option before the sit down or buffet style meal. Buffet is most popular though.  The most "in vogue" option for sit down menu are shared plates for entree (3 options), main meal (3 options) and dessert served in individual small glasses (maybe extra chocolates.

The recent trend for cakes is cake made from different types of cheeses - we tend to stick to sweeter options for cakes as traditionally a cake represent the future life of the couple (hopefully is full of sweetness!!!)

We love serving guests sit-down meals share plates style. So say you have tables of 8, you'd have 2 x each of the dishes on shared plates. This is a super sociable way of serving people.

Although, it does depend on your guests list. e.g. if you have a predominanlty young people's wedding (heaps of friends, not as many older people), cocktail is pretty fun! People can mingle more.

We offer heaps of different menus for all types of dining styles - buffet (our Fancy Lunch Spread), food truck (Taco Feast and Festival Dinner) and cocktail (Fancy Cocktail and Fancier Cocktail party). We also do a Wedding Shared Plates menu as I said. If you like, check out our website or Easy weddings profile for more details on our menus: fatcatsvan.com.au

Our preferred style is definitly cocktail. This allows your guest's to mingle & really get to know each other & allows you to offer a much broader style of food. We suggest a mixture of hot & cold canapes followed by more substantial bowl food that is comfortably eaten standing up, or even mid dance!

My Favourite Menu is a finger buffet or cocktail style, this menu is ideal for those bride and grooms that would like to have more

interaction with there guests, also the benifit of this type of reception is you do not need to hire as much from party hire, and can be budget freindly

With a food truck, on most occasions they do not hire out staff to serve and clean up, and are limited to there Menu choices

Also you may require canapes to be served to your guests,on arrival , and dessert, this will require staff to be organised by a Caterer Most Caterers prefer to cater for the whole reception, not part, So Finding one could be hard

Buffet or BBQ menus are also a great choice, i hope you find this information informative, Congratulations and enjoy your special day

Really depends on the feel/type of event you want. Ask yourself what you want the food on the day to be like. For formal go with sit down plated menu or share plates. For a less formal stand up menus or market style food truck work well. Depends on what venue you have planned as to  what suits. :)

There is no set rule.

Sit down meal presentations limits the conversation guests have with each other and can costs a lot more due to furniture hire and table decorations.

Cocktail style allows a greater selection of food tray-serviced as well as good interaction between guests.

Food truck style can be a bit tricky as they are generally specific and limited with their menus.

Buffet style enables guest to choose want they want.

As a guest, my preference would be cocktail.

Check out our offerings- good luck
