Chef of 13 years. I have been doing functions and catering since I was a first year apprentice. I have worked in some of the best kitchens and bars in Sydney. I have had reviews in the Sydney Morning Herald and Daily Telegraph. I am accomplished in many cuisines including; American, Italian, Greek, Thai, Australian, Seafood and German.

Our head chef and manager has worked in some of the best restaurants and venues in all around Sydney. He has been mentored by some of the best chefs of his era. He is taking 13 years of knowledge and applying it to this business. Other caterers may have been around for years but the food will never come close to what the Big Red Hen is able to produce
Our catering is cheap because the Big Red Hen doesn't see dollar signs when they hear wedding. Our ethos is all about making exceptional quality food for Take-away prices so that everyone can have access to and enjoy our. At the end of the day we just want people to eat great food.
At the Big Red Hen we like to work with event coordinates to ensure we are giving you the most suitable product for your special day. Initial contact we would love no later than 3 months out. However if a caterer cancels on you we only need a weeks notice to ensure your wedding guests are well fed. Payments should be finalized a week from the Wedding day
We can do it all. Our head chef has a background in essentially every type of cuisine you can think of. If there is a specific dish that you absolutely love, there is no reason we can not do it. We also cater for allergies, so occasionally our own dishes need to be altered anyway.
Our love of food. We care about every individual thing we serve. We care about customers. We understand that a wedding day is one of the most important days in anyone's life and we strive to give you exceptional food and a memorable experience. A lot of caterers either don't have the experience or the skill to pull off cooking in large numbers. The Big Red Hen does large catering orders weekly and our head chef is well seasoned (no pun intended) in catering for large numbers.
Tastings start at $65 per head, depending on what you would like to taste. The manager will walk you through each dish and prepare it for you himself. Either call on 02 45 888 713 or email bigredhenrichmond@bigpond.com. Big Red Hen will need at least two weeks notice.
Yes we can do desserts, however Big Red Hen is limited in what can do due to space required for desserts. Puddings, Simple Cakes, Mousse, Panna Cotta are what we offer. Our desserts are delicious. Discuss with us in detail what you would like at your Wedding, and we can either make it happen or we know some great bakers out there who can.
