Hi

The sweeetness in a cake is a personal choice and the depends on the cake makers recipe. All my cakes are made from scratch and thats why its easy to cater to each brides personal choice.

Thank you

I have developed my cake recipes not to be sickly sweet from the cakes to the fillings. I constantly have clients and their guests say that they have gone back for seconds because the cake was too good to resist and not too sickly sweet.

I have a great Passionfruit, Orange and Coconut cake flavour which can be paired with a Lemon/lime & Orange Italian Meringue buttercream or it can be paired with a white chocolate ganache made with sour cream that cuts thru the sweetness.

I also have a Lime and coconut cake or mud cake, served with a lime and coconut curd white chocolate ganache.

Contact me and I would be happy to send you a flavours list to choose from.

I would recommend something with raspberries and lemon as both these are a little on the tart side which helps to cut back on the sweetness of a cake.

I think it really depends on your flavour needs, but my suggestion is pairing something fresh and zesty with the creamy flavour element!

For example Lemon + Blueberry, Vanilla Choc Raspberry, Macadamia Caramel and Lime, Mango Passionfruit and Vanilla - there are so many fun options!!!

We also offer complimentary coulis (berry sauce) with our cakes to increase the fresh zesty flavour profile for when the cake is served to ensure it's a delicious experience had by all ;)

Hi,

Butter cake or sponge type cake are better option for less sweet cake. We can reduce sugar in the recipe.

Cake with fruit fillings such as raspberry coulis  or lemon curd also great as these fillings can cut the sweetness.

I usually recommend my very vanilla with my home made raspberry coulis and my special buttercream filling. It is very populare with those who do not like sweet cakes.

Our most popular is white chocolate raspberry mud cake - even people who don't like raspberries or white chocolate LOVE this cake! It's like magic. Another option for you - perhaps a nice vanilla cake with passionfruit or coconut would be lovely.
Good luck with your wedding planning and choosing your flavours!
If you need any help, I'm here to do exactly that :)

Chocolate mud is always a good option otherwise a lemon or coconut flavour would work too. Like the below responses though each cake decorator would use a different recipe for their cakes so the "sweetness" would vary.

Cakes with raspberry or lemon curd filling are the best or dark chocolate cake. Our cake is made less sweeter and filling is balanced it out. Our dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache is very popular and always have feed back that it wasn’t too sweet.

Good afternoon,

If you are after a rich flavour then chocolate mudcake would be the best choice. Otherwise buttacake is another popular choice.
