It could be all fake, all cake or a combination.

It really depends on the numbers of guests, the type of cake and the decision you make :)

I've personally had a little of everything! In the past couple of months i've had alot of people only wanting roughly about two out of five tiers actual cake and the remaining in kitchen slab to feed their guests.

hope this helps you :)

Hi!  5 tiered cakes can certainly be all cake.  Others may consist of some foam tiers.  It all comes down to how many guests you need to serve

Hi Look it totally depends on what you like.. But i recently made a 6 tier and it had 5 real and 1 fake . I usually ask what  are you going to do with the fake cake later . And the answer is always. "I didn't think that far....  Look I would give you 2 choices and then discuss the best option for you .

A five tiered cake can be either all cake or all fake or a combination of both. It really depends on the style and design you require and the number of guests or cake portions that you require. If you like the look of five tiers but only have a minimal number of guests then you may decide to have some fake tiers. You may want to do the traditional "cutting of the cake" ceremony, but not intending to serve wedding cake at your reception due to a selection of cakes and desserts, so all fake may be the way to go for you.

The majority of pictured wedding cakes that you see at real weddings will be all cake if there is a large number of guests attending and the wedding cake is the dessert. At Bridal Fairs and Wedding Expos the displayed tiered wedding cakes are generally fakes. When a fake tier is iced and decorated you can't really tell the difference between a real cake tier or a fake tier.

I hope this answers your question.

Kind regards,

Barbara

Hi, they can be fake if you want a big cake for display without having too much cakes. The real cake can be just one tier to cut and serve the guests with slab cake ( cutting cake).

Hope it helps.

It all depends on you guest numbers, but I've done a 5 tiered cake that was all cake. To make it a bit cheaper you can do a couple of the tires cake and the rest foam and the have cutting cakes for out the back.

It really depends how many people you need to cater for. I have done both, all 5 tiers cake, or some that are half fake half cake. Sometimes you may want the look and elegance of a 5 tier, but only need to cater for 80 people, so you can definitely do some tiers that are fake! It's all personal choice!

Hi,

Thank you for your question regarding all cake and fake cake.

Depends on your budget and number of guests at your wedding.  You can have some all cake with some fake.  Take into consideration you will be paying for the ingredients for the real cake and also you will be paying for the foam used for the fake cake and icing and decoration for both.

You will also be paying for the time involved to create the whole cake (fake and real). The cost is very very slightly cheaper for fake.

Your day so have what you like and can afford.

Hope this helps

It depends on you, your budget and what you decide with your cake artist my sweet!

5 tiers of cake will serve from a minimum of 200 coffee serves, so if you have a lot of guests, you'd definitely want it all cake.

If you have for example 60 guests and don't want to save any for your first anniversary etc - then dummies can be a good way to go. There's a common misconception out there though that dummy cakes are waaaaaay cheaper than real cakes - it's not so - yes it's cheaper because the cost of ingredients and baking time are not needed, but for value for money - I'd go for real over fake personally! It's all up to you and your partner though and what you think you'd like and use.
Have fun with your wedding planning!

This will depend entirely on the couple and of the design of the cake they would like to have. Some weddings are very large and yes, the entire cake will be real cake.

Some couples love the design of a 5 tier cake but wont need the amount of cake so will have 1,2 or 3 tiers which are cake and the rest fake.

A common misconception is that a "fake cake" is cheap. It may be slightly reduced but it still takes the same amount of time to decorate as a real cake.

Hope this helps!
