Where do I even start. Eight Acres Lakes Entrance is genuinely one of a kind, and if you are even slightly considering it for your wedding, just book it.
We had the whole property from Friday morning through to Sunday afternoon, and I can honestly say it was the most perfect weekend of my life. Not one thing went wrong. From getting ready, to welcome drinks by the fire pit, to the ceremony under the eucalyptus, right through to kick ons and a lazy recovery morning by the pool with our favourite people. It all flowed effortlessly.
The venue itself is stunning. I wanted bushland and quiet, my husband is more coastal and Eight Acres met both requirements perfectly in a somehow non-competing way. Native bushland back drop with a pool surrounded by palm trees, fire pit areas with festoon lights strung overhead, we had quite a few kids and even that wasn't stressful! With a kids playground, giant lawn games, and farm animals to visit in the morning. It sounds like a lot, and it is, but it never felt chaotic. It felt like the most beautiful, relaxed version of a weekend away, except it happened to be our wedding.
Ellis and Pete were absolutely unbelievable. From the moment we first reached out, they were easy to communicate with, experienced, supportive, and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. Nothing felt like too much to ask. They ran the weekend so smoothly behind the scenes that we never had to think about a single logistical detail.
Because Eight Acres is BYO and DIY, we had complete freedom to choose our own suppliers, catering, drinks, and styling. The venue is a blank canvas but has SO MUCH natural beauty that you don't need to add too much either. It gave us the space to make the weekend entirely ours, without any of the stress that usually comes with that level of flexibility.
Every single one of our guests travelled to be there. Not one person was local. When the invitations went out, the questions started, "Why Lakes Entrance?" We heard it more than once. And then people arrived. And every single one of them said the same thing: "Oh. I get it now." Not a single person has said it wasn't worth the trip. The cottages were comfortable and beautifully styled, the grounds were immaculate, and the whole property had this warm, unplugged energy that made everyone feel at ease from the moment they arrived. People did not want to leave.
If you want a wedding that feels like more than just a day, that feels like a full weekend with the people you love in a genuinely beautiful place with a team who actually cares, Eight Acres is it. We would do it all again in a heartbeat. Ellis, Pete, and the whole Eight Acres team, you exceeded every expectation. Thank you.
