make sure to tell the celebrant the reading was the incorrect one after you have checked your facts
immediately advise the celebrant the wrong name has been used...the guests usually yell out ,
Reading the wrong reading shouldn't ever happen as the celebrant should have gone through the ceremony with you prior to the day. So all readings , personal vows, ring vows should have been read out then. You can always ask the celebrant to go through the entire wedding in the rehearsal as well. Maybe not absolutely every word, but check that any readings, music, vows are what you have requested. As a celebrant, anyone with what I consider to be a "tricky" name, I always type the name phonetically on my copy of the ceremony, in case I forget how to pronounce it at the last minute. But as Angela indicated below, as long as it is all recorded correctly on the official documents, it will all be legal.
However, if this has already happened to you and you're asking what you should do now, after the event, If you're not happy with the celebrant's performance on the day of course, you should give that feedback to them directly or via their feedback form and if you're not satisfied with their response, you can always complain to the Attorney Generals Dept. via their website. Try and sort it out with the celebrant first though.
On your ceremony speech your name would have been written but more importantly when filling out your Notice of Intent to marry form your name and spelling on your original birth certificate must be entered exactly even if it's spelt wrong on your birth certificate that us how to be written androgyny through on Marriage certificate and in our celebrants registry book, the same through and all signatures the same on all three documents which will be sent in to be registered within 2 fweeks after ceremony.
As long as the above is recorded correctly, reading it wrongly is alright or the bride might quietly repeated ,that's OK.

Hi, in answer to your question, as a professional celebrant I would have given you a copy of your ceremony for you to check and make changes to if you wish. This draft of the ceremony once it has had your approval will be practiced and rehearsed many times prior to your wedding.
So any mistakes would have been picked up well before your wedding day. I hope this helps.

What you have described should not happen. Always seek to be given repeated access to the draft ceremony; sign it off at the rehearsal and raise the issue of names at the rehearsal if you have any nerves about this. Under the code of conduct you have the right to lodge a formal complaint with the Attorney General/Marriage Celebrants Department
