Do we have to include readings as part of our ceremony

Readings, Rituals and Blessings are all optional parts of a ceremony and do not have to legally form part of your ceremony. There is only about five legally required lines that are necessary within a ceremony to be binding.

How long does a typical ceremony run for?

The majority of ceremonies I perform run about 20 minutes long, including one reading, vows, signing of the marriage certificate and a closing blessing.

How long before I can change my name legally ?

As a celebrant its my job to fulfill all of your legal paperwork requirements. Once the cermeony is performed I send all the paperwork off to births, deaths and marriages and it usually takes about 21 days for you to receive your legal certificate which you can use to change your name. The certificate you sign on the day is commemerative.

We wish to include a statement in relation to support of gay marriage legislation, can we do this?

Of course! In fact, I have a standard statement that I can include letting your friends and family know that you as a couple hope that one day soon all couples in love will have the right to legally marry.

vows-are there standard versions?

If you do not wish to personalise your vows, I can provide you with a standard option, or even versions that I have seen before for inspiration.
