My finance is away working, can I file the Notice with my Celebrant with only one signature?

Yes. The second signature can be provided any time, but must be done before the ceremony is performed.

My Celebrant has asked me to sign a Terms and Conditions Service Agreement. Is this necessary?

This is not a legal requirement, but it is a professional way of protecting the interests of you the client and those of the Celebrant.

Where can I get the documents I need to sign, to get married?

I will provide you with these. You can also download them from the Attorney General'swebsite.The document is called 'Notice of Intended Marriage'.

Does my Civil Celebrant receive any government subsidies or only what I pay them?

No! Your Civil Celebrant receives only what you pay them and is responsible for all costs in relation to training (OPD) and all costs in relation to providing the service to you - eg. fuel and travelling, insurance, clothing, roadies, stationary, postage, phone, advertising, PA system, research material.

FAQ

Will you add extra to your fee if I change my mind about the ceremony and want it to be rewritten?

No! You can change your ceremony wording as much as you want to and as many times as you want to. I am more than happy to work with you to achieve exactly what you want. We're on this journey together.

How do I apply for the official Government Marriage Certificate?

I can provide the forms you will need to apply for the official Marriage Certificate from the Government, or you can download them from Births, Deaths and Marriages.
As an extra service to you, if you complete the form before the ceremony (with your credit card details), I can include it with the official paperwork I send to the Department after the ceremony, thus saving you having to provide the required ID documents.

Do you provide a signing table and chair?

Yes. I will provide a signing table which I decorate for you. Also a chair with a white cover and a sash to match your colour scheme.

Can my Mum walk me 'down the aisle'?

Yes. Anyone can walk with you. Mum, Dad, Mum and Dad, Step-Father, Step-Mother, children - alone or all together. It's entirely up to you.

If I've been married more than once before, will I need all my divorce papers?

No. You need only the most recent divorce papers.
