My name is Lee Halligan, and I feel privileged to be appointed by the Attorney General’s Department as an Marriage Celebrant in 2008. I love my work as a Celebrant and look forward to meeting each one of my couples or families. What more could I want, being involved in joining couples in marriage, or renewing their vows, naming beautiful babies or children, and leaving them all with wonderful memories. My early background was in business and later I graduated as a teacher and psychologist

We together make a bespoke wedding for your unique wedding day. The price I will quote for you depends on the type of wedding you want. We sit down and talk through your ideas (obligation free) and go through some ideas. Why pay for items you may not need eg. you may not want a PA system as you only have a few guests. Or if you get a quote fora low fee and then find out you want more items and the celebrant would then have to keep adding on extra $$'s. So no one size fits all. Hope this answers your question

I call these my Pettite Weddings. It can be from yourselves plus two witnesses up to 20 people. Recently I even provided 2 witnesses for a couple flying into Perth for a few days. One couple used their taxi driver and photographer as their witnesses. They are often performed in my front garden of an old cottage with lots of flowers ..... better than going to a Registry Office. It is possible. However it will require time and effort by yourself and of course funds for training and registrations.
another option would be for your daughter to engage a Celebrant that is will to allow you to be part of the ceremony and they will complete the legal parts.
In the lead up to your daughters wedding you may want time to help out with preparations and spend quality time with your daughter rather than worry about completing the course. However the simple answer is YES

There are so many choices for a celebrant... How can we narrow down and pick one for us?
We are having just a small wedding - 20 guests. It will be a simple ceremony followed by the reception. We don't want to spend too much, but would like a celebrant who can make the short amount of time special.

I suggest to look at their website or directory site, read a few testamonials and make an appoint to visit two and go with how you felt when meeting with them. Dont make it too hard or difficult.

Can I submit a NOIM to the registry before my divorce is finalised?
My divorce (joint application)is currently booked in to be heard August 7th and we are planning to be married on September 22nd. Can we lodge a NOIM to make sure we meet the 1-month requirement whilst the divorce is being processed and show it finalised before the wedding day?

Yes. If there is a hold up with the divorce you may need to extend the wedding date. It is more important to get the NOIM lodged one month before hand and then hope the divorce is finalised before the wedding.
