OVERVIEW
No one loves a joyous celebration of love more than I do, which is why I became a Marriage Celebrant. I love connecting with people to help them understand what they want to convey to family and friends while turning their commitment to each other into their own unique marriage ceremony.
I’ve had many occasions where I’ve had to celebrate with family and friends and keeping everyone happy is not an easy task. It’s those unique subtle touches that every guest like to see or hear that not only makes your day your best day ever, it unites your family and friends as they too will share memories of your sensational day.
I will help make your marriage not only legal but also memorable. Together we will go through anything you need to do or gather to prepare you for your intended marriage. I will guide you through the paperwork to gain the legal requirements needed to meet marrying in Australia. Mail off paperwork for your legal marriage certificate to arrive.
Along the way, I don’t doubt that we will have a few laughs while emotions will run high but don’t worry about a thing – confidentiality is high on my priorities to my clients - I’ve got your back there too!
I could go on about the poetry and music collection you’ll be able to choose from, so it’s probably easier if you call me and we’ll chat.
Look forward to hearing from you.
About
Right throughout my professional career, I’ve dealt with people on a personal level. I’ve been a Personal Trainer, an Aged Care Worker as well as succeeded in all aspects of hospitality. I have worked closely with people and work hard to get their needs met and deliver them what they want. My husband worked in the entertainment industry, therefore I was always organising celebrations for the family and our friends. I would be delighted to help you organise and officiate your wedding.

Including children—whether your own or stepchildren—in your wedding ceremony is a beautiful way to honor your family bond and make them feel like an essential part of your big day. It can help them feel involved, valued, and excited about this new chapter in your lives. There are a number of ways you can do this and just to name a few:
Your celebrant will be able to guide you in selecting the most appropriate way to include children based on their age, personality, and comfort level. They’re experienced in creating a meaningful and flexible ceremony that ensures everyone feels involved without pressure.
For very young children, emotions may run high on the day, so it’s good to keep things simple and allow them to go with the flow. Rather than expecting them to follow a rigid plan, giving them space to engage naturally will help them feel comfortable. Your celebrant will also be able to help manage this, ensuring a smooth and stress-free ceremony.
There is also the other extreme, some children don't want to be involved and then change their mind on the day. Always have a backup plan for children. Have something simple to make them involved. Once again, wedding planners and celebrants are experienced with these sorts of scenarios.
Do I have to be officially divorced to get remarried?
Marie Pentland Civil Celebrant
Yes, you do. A celebrant cannot legally officiate a marriage if one of the parties is still married. Once your divorce is finalised, you are eligible to marry after a waiting period of one day and one month from the date the divorce is granted. When completing the NOIM, it is required to declare your conjugal status. You will have the option to select either "divorced" or "divorce pending." If your divorce has already been finalised, you need to provide a copy of the relevant documents. Alternatively, if the process is still ongoing, you may select "divorce pending. I hope this helps.
I am a terrible public speaker. How can I get ready for my wedding ceremony?
Hi there. Was hoping for some advice on how to tackle ceremony nerves so I can get through my vows. I really want to write my own vows but have always been terrible at speaking in front of crowds. What can I do ahead of time and on the day?
Marie Pentland Civil Celebrant
My advice would be to keep it short and sincere, and the words sound like it's coming from your heart - it doesn't have to be a speech. Focus on your partner; that's who you'll be saying them to, after all. You have one shot at this, so don't let the "crowd' frazzle you. Make sure you practise so you're confident and it flows. Above all, be yourself!
