Fun celebrants?

Looking for someone who can make our wedding unique and a bit more fun!

Fun for me as a Celebrant comes naturally. The key is for it not to be contrived or rehearsed, but how do we achieve this? Chemistry... between the couple, myself and the audience. The skill to ad lib is vital, not everybody can do this and is something that just flows with the moment but being mindful of whom the stars are, the marrying couple. My skill is in my writing and seazing the moment with a pause, a look, a quick barb or simple banter with those involved.

So, call me... Celebrant with wings:)

What does marriage celebrant do?

A Marriage Celebrant is by law required to legally solimnize your Marriage according to the Marriage Act 1961. They can do this by completing and lodging of all the

necessary legal paper work and then verbalizing, with you, the 124 legal words to solomnize your Marriage. To enjoy a more traditional Wedding with ceremony,

readings and or rituals, a Celebrant can create and then conduct such a ceremony according to your wishes. The below list is a typical Full Wedding Service offered.

  • Minimum 2 face to face meetings. (I’m always available)
  • Skype meetings, Unlimited phone calls and emails.
  • Supplying and helping completion of all legal paper work and lodgement.

  • Pre-wedding rehearsal, ensuring choreography and agenda is understand and practiced.
  • A personally tailor written ceremony, capturing the essence of both of you as individuals and of course as a loving couple.
  • Professional P.A. system, table and chairs for signings.
  • Wedding kit for little quick repair jobs (eg: sewing kit, tissues, mints, spare rings!)
  • My service promise! I’m a passionate, committed and happy Celebrant.

I hope that helps:)

Can anyone be a marriage celebrant?

Sure, any body can be a Celebrant.

You will have to complete a Cetificate IV in Marriage Celebrancy via an acredited Celebrancy training College. (There are several on line)

Usually there is about 3 days of class room training and the rest completed on line. You are given 12 months to complete the course, aproximately 900 hours of work to complete all of the required modules.

Once you've completed your Cert IV, you then apply at the Attorney Generals Office for your official appointment. You will have to meet their strict qaulifying criteria and also complete an on line legal qustionnaire. Yeh! It's a process that takes committment and patience.

I think the most important thing though is simply being passionate about being a Celebrant. You play a pivitol role in one of the most important days in a persons life, and you get to enjoy from the best seat in the house:)

What makes a good marriage celebrant?

A good Celebrant has to love his job. The rest is easy.

Their passion for the role will be evident in the chemistry struck up with you and your partner.

They are professionals and have all the answers legally and of course creativily in the construct of your ceremony.

They are intuitive and great listeners, ensuring the essence of the love between a couple is conveyed in the information gathered to create their dream Wedding.

They have to work as a team with other suppliers, for example the photographer. The images they capture are once in a life time, the celebrant must ensure not being in the way in the most important moments...eg: the Kiss.

can a marriage celebrant marry a family member?

I went to a wedding and the celebrant was the grooms father. Is this legal?

Yes, a certified Marriage Celebrant can marry a family member.

What does a marriage celebrant have to say?

What are the legal requirements?

There are 124 legal words which must be verbalised by the Celebrant before the couple he is marrying and the witnesses.

These include the Celebrant announcing his title and full name being the Celebrant, and also the full names of the marrying couple. Again within earshot of the marrying couple and witnesses.

There is a "Monitum" said by the celebrant. " Then the legal vows by the marrying couple.

Do Celebrants fly/travel to perform destination weddings?

I am the Celebrant with wings, I'll go anywhere. Well, actually I am also a Flight Attendant, so the title made sense:) Some Celebrants will charge for travel, be it  a hundred klm radius or ask to be flown to a wedding destination. I do not charge for travel, so call me. Cheers Ray
