Winter Weddings 2020

Planning a Winter Wedding next year?

As your Celebrant and Reception MC it's only $1500 between June - August 2020.

Yes, most of the times it’s just the three of us in your living room or a bar where we go over the finer details. If you want to get the whole wedding party together, then let’s go for it!

Yes, I offer support with the whole process including the legals vows to giving ideas and framework for personal vows. You may also want to read them for the first time to each other during the ceremony; I’ll check they’re similar length and depth so it’s the best possible surprise!

Yes I do travel, you tell me where you’re getting married and I’ll see you there!!

Yes, I do! Everything I do is to make this whole process easy and simple for you; I ask you to fill out one form and I’ll fill out the other 4 documents and then lodge them for you too.

I have weddings booked 1-2 years in advance, so it’s best not to delay, even if it’s simply checking a celebrants availability.

June 2020

Pete has been funny, friendly and helpful from our first interaction with him and we knew straight away that he was ‘the one’ we wanted to marry us and MC our reception. Unfortunately, we had to postpone our wedding until next year due to COVID-19 and it’s comforting to know that, although we are going through these uncertain times, we have one less thing to worry about because Pete has been very supportive, understanding and flexible throughout this whole process. We know Pete is going to be an amazing part of our wedding and we can’t wait! If you’re looking for a celebrant and/or MC, Pete is your man!

Pete was fabulous - he made all of our interactions really warm and friendly, lead us through what needed to be done and all up nailed our ceremony on the day. So much so, our friends thought he was a personal friend of ours! Highly recommend Pete - he's professional and easy going and was always so helpful!

This is no lie Carla: as soon as I woke up I knew we were going to have a cracker of a wedding! Had such a great time with you all leading up to and on the day! Congratulations!

January 2019

Pete was the perfect match for our wedding day. He was calm, fun, thoughtful throughout the whole planning process. He spent time understanding us and what makes us tick as a couple which really came across during the ceremony. We had so many people comment on how great he was and how much they enjoyed listening to our story. Couldn’t recommend Pete any higher!

November 2023

Working with Pete for our wedding was the easiest decision and one we made as soon as we had concluded our initial phone call. He is friendly, kind, funny, relaxed and such a professional. We had a very clear picture in our minds that we wanted our wedding ceremony to be a reflection of us, that told our story to our friends and family and that would ensure smiles on faces and lots of laughs. And that’s exactly what Pete excels at! He takes the time to hear your story and crafts it into a ceremony that will make you feel like he has known you forever. We had so many compliments from our guests about Pete and you will have an amazing wedding day with him by your side.

Pete The Celebrant was excellent! Form our first zoom meeting to our in person catch ups leading up to the wedding, we were able to establish a great connection with Pete. With this Pete could put together a perfect story that made if feel like we had known him for much longer than we had. All this lead to one awesome wedding day and couldn’t have been happier to have Pete part of our big day, he was simply the best and received many thanks and praise from our guests.

conjugal status on marriage certificate?

Do both husband and wife have to mention their conjugal status (if one of them previously divorced) on their marriage certificate? Are there any options with the marriage certificates like can they choose any marriage certificate that does not require conjugal status details?

Pete the Celebrant

The conjugal status must be stated on the Notice of Intended Marriage and Marriage Certificates.

However you're given a Marriage Certificate with the Commonwealth Coat of Arms by your celebrant on the day and it will not have it on there.
I hope this helps!

Any advice on changing your religion to get married?

We want a celebrant to perform our wedding, as we both have different religions- but i was wondering on your thoughts around changing your religion for marriage? My partner wants me to but I am not sure about it. Any advice?

Pete the Celebrant

I think some key questions to ask yourself before deciding is:

  • How significant is my current religion to my identity?
  • Will this impact my wider life with family and society?
  • Would my partner still accept me if I did or didn’t change my religion?

Ones religion can be purely a personal affair, but is normally highly nuanced with many integrated aspects like family and community. Before you make the decision I believe you should think deeply and reflect about what would be gained and lost by the change.

I encourage you to reach out to close friends, family, a counsellor or significant other who you can trust to process this decision with.

All the best with this important choice.

Can I get married in a church if Im not religious?

Im worried about the weather so Im looking for an indoor ceremony venue. Theres a church right next door to my mum's house so I thought I might have it there. But Im not religious. Can I have a civil ceremony in a church??

Pete the Celebrant

Hey Annabel,

If you want the ceremony in a church yet you're not religious then that's fine! There are no legal reasons why you can't get married there by a civil celebrant.
You will need to check that the leader/pastor/priest of the church allow couples to marry there. I've done weddings in churches before and there wasn't a hassle, it was a great ceremony.

Have a wonderful ceremony!
