No. Personal vows are entirely your choice. If public speaking makes you nervous, we can keep things simple and use only the required legal vows, with my guidance throughout.

The length depends on the ceremony you choose and what you’d like included. Readings, personal vows and special moments all affect the timing. We’ll agree on a length that suits you and your plans for the day.

You’ll need evidence of your date and place of birth, proof of identity, and—if either of you has been married before—evidence that your previous marriage has ended. I’ll explain exactly which documents are needed for your circumstances and guide you through the paperwork.

The Notice of Intended Marriage, or NOIM, is the formal notice you give your celebrant before your wedding. It generally needs to be received at least one month and no more than 18 months before the ceremony. I’ll help you complete it and arrange for your signatures to be properly witnessed.

In limited circumstances, a prescribed authority may approve a shorter notice period. Approval isn’t automatic. If time is tight, contact me promptly so we can discuss whether an application may be appropriate.

Yes, provided the previous marriage has legally ended. I’ll need to see the relevant evidence, such as a final divorce order or a former spouse’s death certificate, before your wedding can take place.

Yes. You’ll need two witnesses aged 18 or over to be present for your ceremony and sign the marriage documents. They can be friends or family members.

Yes. After your ceremony, I submit the required documents to Births, Deaths and Marriages. The certificate you receive on your wedding day is different from the official marriage certificate issued by BDM. I’ll order your official certificate and have it sent to you, once your marriage is registered.

Absolutely. Readings, family acknowledgements, meaningful rituals and special roles can make your ceremony even more personal. We’ll discuss how to include them smoothly, with any pet involvement also subject to your venue’s requirements.

A rehearsal can help everyone feel more comfortable, particularly if you have a wedding party or several ceremony elements. We can discuss whether you need one and confirm the arrangements and any costs before booking.

Yes, I have a Bose S1 Pro+ sound system to help your guests hear the ceremony clearly. We’ll also discuss your ceremony music and who will manage playback on the day.

Absolutely! I can help carry the celebration from your ceremony into your reception, keeping things flowing and your guests informed and entertained. Ask me about adding MC services to your booking.

If an unexpected emergency prevents me from attending, I’ll work to arrange a suitable authorised celebrant and coordinate the transfer of the necessary paperwork. We can discuss contingency arrangements before you book.
