Hi, I’m Jamie Cartner — Marriage Celebrant, MC & DJ, with more than 25 years of wedding and event experience and a passion for creating celebrations that are relaxed, personal, fun and completely yours.
I take the time to genuinely get to know you as a couple, so your ceremony reflects your story, your personalities and the way you want to celebrate your love. Whether you're looking for something heartfelt and emotional, relaxed and fun, or the perfect balance of both, I’ll create a ceremony that feels authentic to you.

Jamie is a high energy, fun and engaging celebrant. He easily interacts with your guests prior to the ceremony and will have everyone relaxed and comfortable. He doesn't put any cap on the number of meetings and changes to the ceremony as situations change. He really listens to what couples want and goes above and beyond to ensure the couple themselves are comfortable with their ceremony. Jamie is a fluent and engaging presenter who speaks eloquently and is highly prepared for the ceremony.
All of Jamie's celebrant packages include:
Jamie is based on the Central Coast of NSW and will travel within a 4 hour distance at no further expense. This take is in the greater Sydney region, Central Coast, Hunter and Newcastle, Mid-North Coast and South Coast and Southern Highlands. Outside a 4 hour travel time an appropriate travel fee will be factored in.
Jamie belongs to a number of celebrant networks and has a personal acquaintance with a number of celebrants across NSW. In the highly unlikely event that Jamie is suddenly unavailable for your wedding he will source a replacement.
Yes. Jamie is a professional DJ with over 25 years as a wedding reception and ceremony MC and DJ. Jamie has up-to-date professional equipment that cater for all locations with or without access to power. All ceremonies come with the following:

Get Expert AdviceHaving a friend act as our celebrant: Pros and cons?
We are considering having a close friend conduct our wedding ceremony. We plan to handle the official, legal paperwork beforehand, so the day itself would be a symbolic ceremony led by them. Has anyone done this before? Did it make the ceremony feel more personal and seamless, or did you regret not hiring a professional?

Having a friend lead your ceremony is really personal and lovely and a great honour. In the industry we call this a co-pilot wedding and my first as a celebrant was a pastor who conducted the ceremony and then I did the legal moments and the signing of the register. The pros are it is someone you know well and are comfortable with and they know you. The cons: What is their personality like? Are you ok to risk the possibility of them making it about themself or upstaging your moment? The times I have conducted this type of ceremony have been wonderful. Other alternatives are maybe let them tell your story, or do a reading, maybe not the whole ceremony.
Can we do funny vows

Yes you can and you can even dress as your favourite characters. You do have to say your 1 sentence legal vow to each other and the celebrant has to establish your full legal name somewhere in the ceremony and the celebrant has to also say The Monitum which is a three sentence declaration of the authorisation of the celebrant, the responsibility of the celebrant and the definition of marriage according to Australian law. Everything else is a blank canvas for you to paint in whatever colours, words, theatrics, humour etc you want and your celebrant is their to officiate as per your desires.
Should I change my last name?
Is it the norm?

There is no right or wrong here. Changing your name to your partner's name is something that you should both agree on and not be forced into. There are often many reasons to change a name after marriage amongst them: Two people become one and share a common name; and children will also have the same name as their parents perhaps. But you should never be forced into changing your name. If you do decide to change your surname the process is simple and requires you to go to Service NSW with your NSW Register of Births, Deaths and Marriages certificate of marriage and go through the simple process.
