Nuala is such an amazing celebrant! A Godsend to couples! Nuala guided us with our ceremony from start to finish. My wife and I had no idea how a same sex marriage is done in a wedding ceremony as we came from abroad and only knew of traditional wedding ceremonies. Nuala guided us from start to finish. She is easy to talk to and made us feel at ease with her presence. As a bride, she gave one of the best advice I can think of to avoid the stresses of wedding planning, and that is to avoid the noise of social media and just focus on what is important, which is the love that we share as a couple. This helped us focus on what is important for us as a couple in the ceremony and wedding celebration that we wanted. The wedding ceremony that Nuala officiated for us was romantic and she really highlighted our love story us a couple. She’s very professional and friendly too! We planned an outdoor wedding ceremony and faced a lot of uncertainty prior to the ceremony. Nuala took all the trouble and sort out all problems for us. Friend conducting our ceremony

If I have a friend conducting my ceremony and a qualified celebrant there to do the legal parts, can my friend pronounce us husband and wife at the end?

Hi There. Yes absolutly. The celebrant can work closely with your friend to make the most out of the ceremony. You can have your friend tell your love story and do most of it however the celebrant is required to do the monitum (legal wording) and they will advise on the format of the vows. Ive done many of these kinds of ceremonies and the most important thing is the communication between your friend and the celebrant so they both understand what parts of the ceremony they are doing. We are re-sizing our wedding and hoping to find a celebrant in Melbourne or Albury/Wodonga if we can't travel.

Wishing you all the best and well done for still going ahead. I am sorry that I am not in your area, however I would suggest setting up a facebook group of guests and then your Celebrant can live stream your ceremony to as many people as you like. Another alternative is to send out a Zoom invite. Your Celebrant should be able to write a ceremony to reflect the times and make guests still feel like they are there celebrating.

My fellow Celebrants have done a wonderful job highlighting the process of your nuptials.

In brief, your Celebrant should be reliable - that is the most important! I got called last month the day before a wedding with a bride in tears as her Celebrant just cancelled on her. So first and foremost, the testimonials for your Celebrant should speak for themselves. Check out their social media pages and website.

Definelty meet with them over a cuppa and see if you and your partner are comfortable with them. It will make the communications process a lot easier!
