FAQ

Do we need to meet in person to witness the Notice of Intended Marriage?

Yes, The temporary measure introduced during COVID to allow remote witnessing of the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) ends on 31 December 2023.

From 1 January 2024:

all new NOIMs must only be signed and witnessed in the physical presence of an authorised witness
a new NOIM signed and witnessed remotely, via any facility that enables audio and visual communication between persons in different places, will not be valid.

Please note, there are no exceptions to the above.

It is important that all authorised witnesses, including authorised marriage celebrants, comply strictly with the changed legal requirements..

Where do we meet you for our meetings?

I have an office in Port Elliot or we can meet at a mutual location to sign the NOIM and start your Ceremony planning. I often meet couples at the Marion Hotel. Additional meetings can be done via zoom or in person if required.

Hi there! Celebrants charge different fees depending on things like experience, what’s included in the package, travel, and the type of ceremony you’re after. The Marriage Certificate can either be included in the fee or a seperate cost and each state has different offices for the Birth Death and Marriages Register so the fees may also vary state to sate.
