FAQ

You legally must have your NOIM back to your celebrant at least 1 month before your ceremony.   There are certain occasions when a "Shortening of Time" is required and that is when you are NOT able to give a month's notice for example due to health reasons & that will be assessed by the court and you would have to provide proof that you require "A Shortening of Time".

No, at the time of booking you will be asked for a booking fee 25% of your fee and then 1 month before your ceremony the balance is due.  There are other payment plans on request to help spread the cost, so you can secure me as your celebrant for your special day.

No, I provide a top-of-the-range, Bluetooth, wireless speaker, and mic.  I also have a backup Pro Bose S1, which is wireless and Bluetooth. No extra cost for you there!

As a celebrant, you are responsible for all the legal documents, if this is wrong you the couple have lots of issues later down the track with name changes, visas, passports etc.

I spend time completing and ensuring all the details you request are in your ceremony.

That we fun on time, so your other vendors are getting food out hot, and photos and music are on time.

I send questionnaires to you so I can create a beautiful original "Love Story" for you on the day.

I print your vows and your script to bring on the day.

I ensure I am there on time, 1 hour before, and liaise with all your other vendors so we work together.

I call your photographer to review the cues a few days before the ceremony.

I warm your guests up so we have a relaxed ceremony and they feel included and valued.

I coordinate the whole ceremony so it's fun, professional, and runs on time.

I assist your photographer to get the group & family photos, that's hard without the Mic!

I travel home and upload all your documents to Births, Deaths & Marriages

I include the FEE for your marriage certificate from Births, Deaths & Marriages and pay that on submission of your documents. 

I follow up to check everything was ok and that you received your Marriage Certificate.

And much more time spent on calls and meetings with you to ensure your day runs as you imagine it too.

On my questionnaire, I ask what your colour scheme is and I complement that, I do not wear floral or patterned outfits unless its fitting for the circumstances.

Depending on where you are in location to the (Mid-North Coast) there may be some small travel fees to cover the cost of fuel and time on the road.  Every ceremony is in a different location.  This will be transparent and discussed in our first conversation.

Yes, I have 2 professional wireless PA systems so there's no interference and they can easily connect so no words are missed and your guests hear everything.

I will be there with you for support,  no you don't need to use the mic.  I do most of the talking, so you can enjoy your "Love Story" and all you have to say are your legal vows.  I've got you!!!

I stay long enough to see you receive all your hugs and kisses, grab a quick pic with you both and help your photographer gather everyone for the photos then I scoot off home and upload all your documents and you enjoy the rest of your day!

Don't worry, I am there for you and I will have the tissues ready, we will just hold off, I will keep the guests occupied while we get you sorted and fix up that makeup and then we continue when you're ready.  It's all good, you most probably haven't done anything like this before its real and raw and beautiful and they are happy tears so were all good with that.  It's beautiful and brings emotion in, your allowed to cry!

Your usual name!  You have to sign the marriage certificate before you are considered legally married and eligible to change your name.  So no need to practice that new signature just yet!

Jane recently married me and my husband Andy in an intimate ceremony on our property which was more than we could have ever imagined. Being Scottish living here in Australia we wanted to incorporate a little bit of tradition by performing hand fasting where our hands are bound by a tartan scarf whilst we exchanged vows, when we approached Jane and asked if we could have this added in, she immediately said Yes! let's do it. We also had Jane as our MC which I can honestly say is well worth every penny extra as she not only ensured everything ran smoothly with timing etc. but she took the time to engaged with all our guests and made everyone feel welcome and completely in the loop with everything the day entailed. I can't recommend Jane enough she has such a beautiful vibe and is such an amazing person.

Jane was absolutely phenomenal! From our first conversation I could tell she was the easy going and fun celebrant we wanted. Jane walked us through the entire process making it all so easy and stress free. She organised all our documentation and ran rehearsals so everyone knew what was happening on the day. The ceremony itself was beyond what my husband and I had dreamed of! Jane told our love story in such a fun and elegant way that all of our guests adored. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing! I cannot express my thanks enough to Jane for all the hard work she put into making our day so special, she is truly incredible!

So far, our experience with Jane Dawson has been incredible. She gave us ample time on the phone to ask all of our questions (trust me, there was a lot of them) and also gave us so many fun ideas that we feel were really genuine suggestions after getting to know us as a couple. What tasks does a celebrant perform?

What are some of the things we could lean on our celebrant for, apart from the actual ceremony?

Jane Dawson Celebrancy

Your celebrant is your go-to for pretty much everything, including moral support leading up to and during the ceremony.  You should build a great connection with your celebrant as they are telling your "Love Story" they pretty much know you like a friend. 

If it rains I  run around and wipe the seats for your guests, play your music, checked your guests are ok, and informed your parents where they are sitting.  Kept your partner whos waiting for you calm, and supplied the tissues as you cry happy tears. 

I liaise with all your other vendors so we are all working together as a team, stepping aside while your very expensive photographer gets those beautiful shots of you both.

As your celebrant, I check your signing table and all the small details you told me you wanted are in place so when you walk down the aisle it's just how you imagined. 

I check all your documents and do all the Legal paperwork so you receive your marriage certificate in good time after your ceremony. 

It's your dream day and I will my best to ensure your day is awesome, as would any celebrant.

MC - I am an MC, on request, and for an additional fee I am able to offer you peace of mind that your day will run smoothly.

You could ask her to hold your flowers when you reach the front.

Mum, could hold the rings or do a reading/poem.

It's lovely for your mum to walk down the aisle with your siblings, to make an entrance and make her feel special and included.
