Do you travel anywhere?

Short answer is yes, I have never said no to a wedding based on location, however there would obviously be a cost associated with having your wedding on the Nullarbore Plane.

Thanks for dropping by! My name is Sam and I am a Marriage Celebrant and MC based in Melbourne (but I travel far and wide; Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, anywhere!)

I love weddings, when done right it is the most fun someone can have, that's a fact (I’m pretty sure it is). As a full-time celebrant I am so lucky to help awesome couples start their big days off the right way - with ceremonies that are a perfect blend of genuine, relaxed vibes, where laughter flows freely (and happy tears make a guest appearance!).

How I work..
I have a really simple approach to the ceremonies I put together;

1. Modern: We have all sat through an “old school” ceremony that feels like it goes for 3 hours, it's tough work. I specialise in modern, fun and entertaining ceremonies. If you want a Pope Francis style ceremony I am probably not your guy.

2. Funny: Just like life, weddings should have some funny moments. I want you and your guests to laugh and enjoy the ceremony. My background is stand up comedy and podcasting, but don’t worry, this isn’t a roast or dad joke central (I couldn’t think of anything worse!). My job is to be your storyteller, it’s to get to know you both, and tell your tale like we have been friends for years!

3. Memorable: Most of all I don’t want your guests thinking “Could I get away with checking the footy scores?”. I want your ceremony to be entertaining, I want it to tell the story of you so well that they have no choice but to be as present as Tibetan monks!

Essentially, I am saying I want to put the best-ever ceremony together for you.

FAQ

Do you have your own PA system?

Sure do, its a great one also, battery powered, so it can be used anywhere. You are also more than welcome to use it for your music for the walk down the aisle etc :)

Do we have to do any paperwork?

Absolutely not! Part of my job is to take care of all of the boring / important paperwork. I will then lodge it after the ceremony, easy!

What is the process if we want to book you?

You can contact me through this website and we can meet for a coffee or a "night coffee" (wine) and have a chat about your big day, what you are after and some of the things i offer. If that sounds good it is just a matter of filling out some basic paperwork (which i do for you :) and a deposit. Easy done!

Do you MC weddings?

I do indeed, this is an additional service. I approach this similarly to my ceremonies. I make it personal, entertaining and essentially keep the night moving in the right direction! (no drunk uncles cracking bad jokes here)

Can you help us with our personalised vows?

You bet I can, I have seen some awesome examples and you are more than welcome to bounce ideas off me, its part of the service.

We had Sam be our marriage celebrant and MC for our reception. He brought an incredibly warm and friendly vibe, and was able to hit the serious notes while also making jokes as if he had known us for years. We had many many people comment on how amazing he was and how he presented, with one or two people even asking if he was a close friend of ours. The MC upgrade was 1000% worth it as he made sure everything ran smoothly and to schedule on the day, coordinating all the vendors and the venue as required. This really allowed us to sit back and enjoy every last second of the night without stress. His communication and assistance in leadup to the event was exemplary, as he answered all questions we had and gave very helpful advice and feedback on our vows and other speeches. We could not recommend Sam enough!

I was a long time listener, first time caller of Sam. I had been to quite a few weddings where he was the celebrant so he had been earmarked in my notes on my phone for literally years before I even got engaged. From the moment we met, we knew we had found the perfect celebrant. He took the time to get to know us, made the entire process so easy, and created a ceremony that was personal, laidback and full of laughter. It felt like he was telling our story, and so many of our guests commented afterwards on how funny and engaging the ceremony was.
