What is included in a full priced wedding ceremony?

I have a format I follow that covers all components of a ceremony, each one flowing nicely to the next. Depending on your design and depth of  your unique ceremony, will determine the length and detail of each component and whether all components are used.

  • Processional
  • Welcome and Gathering Words
  • Giving Away
  • Introduction of the Couple
  • Reading/s
  • Monitum and Declaration of Intent
  • Marriage Address
  • Ritual (optional)
  • Marriage Vows
  • Presenting of the Rings
  • Pronouncement
  • Signing of the Register
  • Presentation of the Couple
  • Recessional

How much do you charge for conducting a full wedding ceremony?

My celebrant fee is $675 for a full wedding ceremony. With the completion of the NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage), your first official paper work, a non refundable fee of $350 is to be paid to secure my services for your chosen date and the outstanding balance of $300 is to paid two weeks prior to the wedding.

Do you conduct a shorter style ceremony?

I can offer you my 'Short and Sweet' ceremony at a venue of your choice or at your home. The 'Short and Sweet' ceremony generally contains a short welcome, a reflection about marriage, Monitum (the legal definition of marriage in Australia), vows and ring exchange, followed by the signing of the certificates with your two witnesses, concluding with the presentation of you as a married couple.

The cost of this style of service is $600 with a non-refundable deposit of $350 and the balance of $250 to be paid two weeks prior to the wedding date.

Do you recommend having a rehearsal?

Yes.  I do recommend a rehearsal for many reasons:

  • It is preferable a rehearsal to be held at the location of the wedding; however, if this is not possible an alternative venue would be desirable.
  • Having a rehearsal will help subside your nerves of the unknown.
  • Organise where the bridal party will be standing.
  • Parents and wedding party to practice the processional with music.
  • Other participants e.g. readers, to practice and familiarise themselves with proceedings.
  • Practice using a microphone.

Do you provide a Public Address (PA) system?

  • The PA system is provided for the use by the celebrant.
  • The PA system can be used for recorded music to be played before, during and after the ceremony.
  • The PA system is battery operated and has two wireless microphones.

Do you provide table and chairs for the signing of the register?

Yes.  I provide one table, two chairs and table cover.  If you have decorations that are in-keeping with your wedding theme, they may be placed on the table.

Can we write our own vows?

Yes, by all means; however, I have samples that you can consider and adapt for your personal use.

Do you travel to more remote locations outside of the ACT?

1. Whilst I am based in Canberra I am happy to travel anywhere to officiate your wedding. Please contact me to find out the additional costs involved for the extra travel to your location.

2. I also conduct weddings in the Jervis Bay area. Additional travel costs are calculated 35kms from Vincentia.

What about the music?

My PA system has the facility to attach a phone or usb to play your music. Choose your top four favourite songs or instrumental pieces for the actual ceremony as you will need a song/piece for the processional, two songs/pieces for signing the register and one for the recessional. It also adds to the atmosphere to have music playing while your guests are gathering before the ceremony. So start gathering your playlist now.

I do ask you to organise someone to be in charge of the music throughout the ceremony. If there is a need to discontinue the music at a particular time, always fade out the music as opposed to a sudden stop.

Can both my mum and dad walk me down the aisle?

Absolutely for both the bride and the groom.
