OVERVIEW

Home to Afternoon Tea (or High Tea as it is more commonly known) since 1883, The Windsor is just the place for the elegant bride-to-be. The spectacular Victorian facade is a popular backdrop for photography, and the grand interiors - often used as a film set - have been the choice for Hollywood glamour, Great Gatsby and pin-up chic bridal showers. 

A bridal shower at The Windsor can be held in the colonial-esque tea lounge One Eleven, or, for groups of eleven and above, in one of the two private dining rooms, The Canberra or The Winston.

The Winston is the elegant, Victorian one - with tall windows framed with drapes, colonial-style fans and ceiling fixtures. The Canberra is rich, moody and glamorous, with a large gold-gilded mirror and chandeliers. Both private dining rooms can be themed with decorations (BYO).

Afternoon Tea is served on two silver-tiered stands, one savoury and one sweet, filled with tasty bite-sized delights of canapes, sandwiches, petite tarts, desserts, and scones with jam and cream.  

French sparkling wine or Pommery Champagne is served on arrival, along with a silver teapot of specialty tea (pick from 11 options). Free-flowing French sparkling wine and Champagne are also an option, and if you wish, just a few flights of stairs above are the hotel's Victorian Suites - perfect for a girls sleepover.

The Windsor is an inclusive hotel welcoming pre-wedding celebrations of equality.

We can cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free*, nut free*, pescatarian and lactose free options.

* Please note that as our Afternoon Tea items are all made from scratch in-house, there may be traces of gluten and nuts present. 

We recommend dressing in your Sunday best. Smart-casual attire is preferred.

You are most welcome to bring birthday, bridal shower or other decorations for the table if it is a special occasion. Please do notify our staff beforehand.

Please also note that for safety access reasons, decorations cannot be placed on the floor around the table. We recommend that the choice of decoration be restricted to the tabletop or tied to the chair.

Yes we do have a ramp access where required. Please speak to our doorman on arrival and they will be more than happy to assist.

The Hotel Windsor was an absolute godsend. Geri, makes me lost for words how incredible she was. The entire process, she was there to help, assist, and always looked after us. She went above and beyond for us and our wedding would not have been as perfect as it was without her. The heritage charm of the Windsor and additional staff and management team stayed with me until 2am setting up our room and making sure everything will be absolutely perfect. I could not fault them whatsoever and would recommend anybody to this venue. It's unique, has a beautiful heritage charm and truly is magical. 1000x yes!

The Hotel Windsor is a brilliant venue for weddings of all sizes and scopes. My partner and I had a small, under 40 person wedding in the hotel’s Canberra Room on June 2nd—and our guests are still raving about the attentive and seamless service. All wedding packages come with ample structure, provisions, and complimentary inclusions; and yet still enough flexibility to truly personalize the day. But I really must rave about Louise and the Hotel’s wedding planning and event staff! With her assistance, I was able to plan our wedding from the middle of the Pacific Ocean (my partner and I are cruise ship employees). I cannot recommend this venue and these people enough.!

We had our intimate wedding reception in the Canberra room at Hotel Windsor and also booked two rooms (Victorian and Windsor Suite) for two nights. I like the atmosphere of the hotel as it gives an elegant, vintage, and Victorian ambiance. From the conceirge, room service, and to the banquet and catering team, our requests were handled professionally. I would like to commend Liesl, our personal wedding planner from Hotel Windsor, for being organized and making sure everything is in order and nothing is overlooked. Everything happened so smoothly on my wedding day because it’s been planned and prepared months before and all the hotel staff provided an excellent service. We’re very thankful for that. I highly recommend Hotel Windsor as a venue for wedding ceremony/ reception. They have the best team that will assist with everything to make the wedding day special and memorable.

We had our wedding in the grand ballroom (organized very last minute) and it was just amazing! Very lucky that it was available as it was thee best wedding venue we could ever ask for. Lovely and friendly service and tasty food. I really appreciate their assistance with preparing everything. It was very stress-free as they greatly took care of everything!
