I really don't want to wear a veil, but what are my other options?

I really don't like veils at all, but I'm not sure what other types of headwear would suit me, I don't like wearing my hair up at all, only down

If you are not wanting to wear a veil, you could have flowers in your hair, a crown, fascinator or hat. You may even chose a hair comb, the options are endless.

Hi Terryn,

You absolutely don't have to wear a veil, a lot of brides feel it's a bit outdated tradition.
You have a few different options:
1. Ask you dress designer to supply some lace from the wedding dress, so the pieces can be braided into your hair or used for creating a headband. If you search images online you will find plenty of beautiful options for your special day - from simple, understated thin bands to luxury, heavily beaded styles. As long as your hair piece doesn't overwhelm the dress, you'll look great.
2. Fresh flowers in your hair look absolutely divine, very soft, sweet and romantic and look the best with the wedding dress in a boho style.
3. A bird cage veil is another good idea. If you choose to go with that option, please ensure it doesn't fully cover your face or still look great when lifted (more like a headband option).

At the end of the day, you will choose what makes you feel beautiful on your special day.

Hi Tarryn, there are so many options if you don't want to wear a veil. A fascinator or bird cage veil is one option or a stunning beaded headpiece is another. You will need to try various ones in with your dress. I would also recommend a hair trial when you do try your gown on so you know it all goes together. Good Luck with your wedding

You have lots of options for different types of head pieces, eg: lace hair piece made to match your dress, flower crowns real or silk flowers, crystal hair pieces, birdcage veils for a vintage look, head chains for a more boho look and so many more. Many bridal store carry a range of accessories and some even custom make to your requirements. If you want to be more fashion forward having a bridal cape instead of a veil is one of the hottest trends on the catwalk. Also talk to your hairdresser as they have probably done a lot of hairstyles and have seen different hair pieces. There is no rules you have to follow, you don't even have to have a hair piece just do what make you happy.
