First of all you should go get quotes on alteration as it can very from place to place. Book in with the dressmaker you trust with your gown and understands what kind of fit you are after. If its just standard alterations 6-8 weeks, if you want make more changes like changing the style of the gown you will need longer.

Its normal to pick up the week before or week of the wedding. Don't do alterations to early because if you weight changes you will have to alter it again.

We recommend booking in with a dressmaker as soon as you find a good one but don't start the alterations until 6-8 weeks out.

Thank you for your questions. If you order a standard size dress then it's a good idea to start alterations 8 weeks before the wedding with the final fitting a week before the wedding.

If you order a bespoke dress (fully made-to-measure gown) you don't require a single alteration because it will fit you perfectly.

Hope it helps.
