Athol Hall is a truly beautiful wedding venue. The location, views over the harbour and overall setting are hard to beat, and the amenities on the day work really well for a seamless ceremony and reception. It’s the kind of place that does a lot of the heavy lifting for you in terms of atmosphere. On the day itself, the staff were incredible. They were attentive, calm and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. We felt really well looked after and were able to relax and enjoy the day, which is exactly what you want. Where the experience fell a bit short for us was during the planning phase. Communication wasn’t proactive nor overly helpful. We were passed between four different coordinators over the course of our 8-month planning period making continuity difficult, meant we often had to repeat details and felt like we had to battle in order to receive a clear picture of how things worked, what was included etc. . Overall, we would still recommend Athol Hall – the setting and on-the-day execution are fantastic. Just be prepared to take a slightly more hands-on approach during the planning process and having to battle to ensure your needs are met.
