Mel (along with her 2nd photographer Mallie) was able to capture a huge array of fantastic photos of our wedding day, despite the additional challenges of wind and an outdoor setting as well as the whims of our overwhelmed toddler. Leading up to the big day she was organised and helped guide us through putting together shot lists and plans, and was happy to give her own advise when requested based on her own experience and the many wedding she has shot, and to let us take the lead when we have something special in mind. On the day she was happy to engage with the venue staff and other professionals to coordinate and make sure she was there to get pictures at every step of the way, while being as unintrusive as possible. The photos have turned out great, with a good mix of serious, playful, artistic, and candid pictures of us and our normally picture shy group of friends and family. I'd be happy to recommend A Shot Above the Rest to anyone looking for a photographer for their wedding or other event.
