I booked An Island Hideaway without ever seeing the venue as I live interstate. It was everything I could have dreamed of for a wedding venue. The staff are friendly and professional, the location is absolutely beautiful and all our friends and family loved the wedding. The only downsides were that the wedding coordinator only works one day a week, so in the lead up to the wedding there is no fast and easy communication from the same person. Also, the food (buffet) was packed away very quickly and we did not get exactly what we ordered with no offer of compensation.

Janet was great in communicating what was required of us and what she would be doing on the day. She was lovely and set a beautiful tone for the ceremony.

We hired the photobooth for the whole day - from the cocktail hour, right through dinner and dancing until the end of the reception. The attendant was great at keeping things running along and creating the album with all the photo-strips from the night for us to take home.

We ordered a three-tier mudcake (chocolate, marble and vanilla) with a truffle frosting. It was well presented and tasted delicious. All of the guests commented on how much they enjoyed the cake!

I loved my dress from the moment I saw it on the rack. I tried it on and knew it was the one. The assistant gave me more options to try on and did not rush me. However once it was made and ready to pick up, the assistants were slightly rude and had the wrong appointment time (I had it in writing) and the dress was way too big for me. It cost me another $610 in alterations.
