We had our wedding reception at The Langham, Melbourne recently and everything was wonderful. Here are our highlights of planning and holding our reception at this location. Planning and Preparations A special thank you to our wedding planner Kim Hilbig for her expertise and enthusiasm for making our big day a real fairytale experience! Kim's communication across the multiple layers of the planning stages, from the initial meet and greet to the finishing touches of the evening showed her willingness to go above and beyond to ensure a reception that matched our style of classical, formal, and elegant. Venue Our selection of The Alto Room for our reception was situated on the upper levels of The Langham and overlooking the Yarra and surrounding CBD provided worldclass views, with a sweeping vista from Fisherman's bend to the iconic Flinders' Street Station. An open-air balcony facing these inner-city urban views also impressed our guests on their first arrival into the venue and throughout the evening. A simply stunning backdrop to a simply stunning event. Food & Dining / Catering We were very satisfied with the taste testing from the options provided by The Langham, Melbourne, in-house catering team. The taste testing experience was an experience in itself as we had the opportunity to taste all that selected including beverages, canapes, entrees, mains, and desserts. On the week of the reception the chef's team showed its excellence for fine dining by ensuring that the selected food was to our liking. We had many fine comments from our guests regarding the superb quality of the food that evening. Food Service and Waitering Our team of waiters were super helpful and attentive to the needs of all in attendance, in particular us as the bridal table. We received world-class service with a smile and even some added compliments to our menu. Theming and Decor We were very pleased to find that in addition to our own suppliers that we were arranging, The Langham, Melbourne, shared with us the details of supplier Function Accessories. Paul was very helpful in guiding us through table arrangement styles since he had years of experience in decorating The Alto Room. Additional The accommodation room upgrade and complimentary valet parking were an added bonus to our fairytale package.
