I only went to 1 bridal shop and that is Blinova Bridal run by Olga! She is Russian origin but randomly happened to be married to a Sri Lankan and lived in Sri Lanka (where I'm from) so we bonded. I really loved her attention to detail with lace work and her attentiveness to cater to her first curvy bride including making a curvy mannequin just for my dress!

One of my bridesmaids lives in Korea and flew to Melbourne for my hen’s night in 2016 so we all went to White Runway. My bridesmaids are Irish, Korean and Italian-Australian origin with different body shapes so I encouraged them to pick a dress of their choice in the colours of the ocean so that they would feel beautiful and comfortable on the day and could reuse the dress after the wedding.

I wanted 1 statement piece of jewellery to compliment the beautiful lacework on the dress and got matching studs for the 5 strand Swarovski head piece which has a simple but beautiful design. I did not wear a necklace or bracelet – only my wedding rings and head piece.

We hosted a Welcome Dinner for our guests the night before the wedding at Azul Beach Club – a stunning 3 story bamboo tiki bar by the beach. Guests received wedding branded welcome bags with little gifts like scented soaps, jams, a beach sarong and insect repellent which were organised via GW. On the wedding day – guests received cold water bottles to have during the outdoor ceremony and these had the same branding as the bags on cooling sleeves that many guests also filled with shells as an extra souvenir of the wedding.
