Having a great musician was a top priority for Ryan and I, and we were lucky enough to find Matt on the easy weddings website, amidst the craziness of decision making time for all our wedding vendors. What I initially liked about Matt, apart from his obvious musical talents, was his approach-ability. On initial contact,I was chuffed that he seemed genuinely keen in playing at our wedding (I found that other musicians were not so). He responded to my questions in a timely manner, was flexible, and his fee was small for what he gives in talent. It was an easy choice, and one of our best, to have Matt perform on our day. Matt played 4 sets for us during our wedding reception, easing our crowd in with soft, background music, and later amping it up when we hit the dance floor. It was the perfect fit for our outdoor, cocktail wedding. We asked Matt to do a couple of things for us on the day, which he did without hesitation. Firstly, to MC for us, and, for our "first dance" he learnt to play Angus and Julia Stones - Mango Tree, both of which he did beautifully. Matt is extremely talented as a musician, and highly recommended.

We absolutely adored our wedding venue. The gardens were beautiful, the venue exclusively ours for the day and they have an excellent cellar door for wines. The owners were delightful people however unfortunately, they were also a little tired of the wedding industry which showed at times in the preparation stage (hence my 0.5 off). Nonetheless, they were very accommodating, answered our questions, and were very flexible in how we could set it the venue up, and we were able to come in the evening before and the morning after to pack it all away. Another highlight is the Vineyard Kitchen - the onsite restaurant run by Ryan, their son. We had a cocktail style menu, which was very substantial and the food is absolutely beautiful, and is still being commented on a couple of months later. We could not fault anything that came out of the kitchen. If you don't choose Brookside as a venue, make sure you go their for lunch!

Great small business for event hire. We hired the Jenga and a couple of wooden trunk slices for a great price. An easy person to communicate with and a flexible service. It appears that she is getting new items all the time :)
