Katie and Justin met as rebellious 16-year-olds drinking underage at a local pub in Northern Ireland.
“Everyone talks of finding ‘the one’ however Justin nor I expected to be one of the very lucky ones who found this at 16,” smiles Katie, now 28 of Justin, now 27. The couple, who now reside in Adelaide, married at their classic romantic wedding on February 3, 2018 with 50 guests in the Adelaide Hills.
Their ceremony at Our Lady of the Rosary Stirling was an important choice for the couple who were keen to pay homage to the Irish Catholic tradition of marrying in a church. “For a long time we struggled to find a venue that was small and quaint enough for our very intimate wedding,” says Katie. The ceremony was followed by pre-dinner drinks and canapes for while the bridal party had photos taken.
“The evening at Mount Lofty House was then all about fun, laughter, dancing and a great night for friends and family who had travelled from overseas and interstate,” smiles Katie.

“I feel every love story is beautiful but every now and again a rare one comes along and that is us!” beams the bride.
“Our little pageboy who is my godson Levi. This was a massive thing for Levi as he has autism,” says Katie.
“I definitely underestimated my own organisational skills, as the week before was stress free, fun and filled with lots of love and laughter as all our guests arrived from overseas and interstate,” recalls Katie.
