A last-minute change of venue is enough to send any bride-to-be into a tailspin, but Perth’s Tenille Russell and future husband Mark Hale took it all in their stride.
A predicted storm forced a re-think of the Perth couple’s planned garden wedding and a new venue was sought with just two days to go. “Our new ceremony venue was the Dress Circle Foyer of His Majesty’s Theatre, which was absolutely spectacular and made for some stunning photos,” Tenille, 31, explains.
Tenille and Mark, 36, who first met through a mutual friend, held their vintage wedding on March 14, 2015 in front of 123 family and friends. The wedding party then took to the streets of Perth for some spectacular photographs with a city edge before the reception at The Aviary’s Birdcage restaurant.
Tenille says it was important to include family and friends in the wedding planning and in the big day itself. “We wanted to create a wedding that more personal and include lots of our friends and family,” she says.
The bride’s aunt made a rocky-road cake and favours – Tenille’s childhood favourite – and the couple’s friends sang them down the aisle. A vintage cart provided guests with gelato and champagne on arrival at the reception and Beyond Blue pins and bracelets were given in memory of Tenille’s brother.
“Our day was perfect and filled with lots of love, happiness and laughter,” Tenille says.
