Tamika and Jack first met over eight years ago at a nursing ball, where Jack’s playful sense of humour made an immediate impression on Tamika. Their relationship has been defined by laughter ever since, leading to a sentimental sunset proposal at their local beach alongside their beloved pug. To honour their engagement and coastal lifestyle, they chose to host their modern, elegant wedding at Sandringham Yacht Club. “As soon as we visited Sandringham Yacht Club, we knew it was the one, the staff were easy going and friendly and the view was unforgettable,” Tamika says.

The wedding, held on 28 February 2025, featured a timeless black and white palette that perfectly complemented the Port Phillip Bay backdrop. Tamika wore a stunning Ella Moda gown from Bluebell Bridal, featuring a lace corset bodice and removable off the shoulder straps. Her bridesmaids wore black silk midi dresses from Sndys the label to match the classical theme. Jack and his groomsmen were equally sharp in hired suits from Ferrari Formal, accessorised with matching black cufflinks gifted by the groom.

The ceremony took place on the venue’s outdoor balcony, where the couple stood before a lush white and green floor arrangement by Littlestag Floral Couture. “The ceremony was outside on a balcony looking over the water, we have guests sitting and facing towards the water with a ground floral display where Jack and I stood with the beautiful display of the sea behind us,” Tamika recalls. Their celebrant, Megan Thompson, brought their story to life with the perfect balance of romance and humour. A highlight of the day was the inclusion of their pug, who was brought to the venue by The Wedding Sitter for post-ceremony photos.

Due to wind, the celebration moved into the reception area where Tamika’s DIY styling and a black reflective dancefloor sat before floor to ceiling windows. Guests enjoyed a 10/10 menu from the in-house kitchen, including beef cheeks and chimichurri chicken, followed by a white chocolate raspberry cake from Miss Trixie Drinks Tea. Michael from Mercury DJs kept the energy high on the dancefloor, while every moment was captured by videographer Ebony from Weddings Captured by Ebony, who made the couple feel completely at ease. Reflecting on the day, the couple wouldn’t change a thing, as the location and flexibility of the Sandringham Yacht Club staff made their beachside dream a reality.
