Rachel and Alex’s January 4, 2023, wedding at the idyllic Barn Events in Nar Nar Goon was an affair to remember. Straying from traditional norms, the couple aspired for an event that mirrored their casual and laid-back personalities — with a dash of country vibes.
The ceremony took place in a quaint garden adjacent to a cottage at Barn Events, with sparkling wine and beers served amidst a soothing acoustic set.
Rachel and Alex decided against traditional vows, instead opting for private cards to share their sentiments. Their dog, Boss, participated in the wedding, escorted down the aisle by Alex’s sister.
Post-ceremony, guests moved to the barn, a stone’s throw away from the ceremony area, for a cocktail hour featuring sliders and Aperol Spritz, while the couple retreated for a photography session. Cait of CelebrAIT Wedding Co ensured everything was timed perfectly and running smoothly.
Rachel and Alex had a romantic golden hour photoshoot, capturing the inherent romance of the day. Alex’s Institchu suit and Rachel’s sleek gown contrasted perfectly with the rural landscape.
The evening was planned meticulously to ensure a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. With dinner served cocktail style from the Happy Camper Pizza food truck, the ambience remained casual and lively. Rachel made a dramatic re-entry post an outfit change, leading into the father-daughter dance. This was followed by family speeches and the couple’s first dance.
True to their personalities, Rachel and Alex kicked off the dancefloor in their unique style. A traditional Greek song was played as they invited everyone to participate in plate-smashing, a nod to Alex’s Greek heritage. As the night unfolded, the barn, with its fairy lights suspended above the dancefloor, offered an intimate yet spacious area for everyone to let their hair down. This was fueled by a round of espresso martinis, creating an energetic vibe for the rest of the evening.
