An unusual sense of humour was no laughing matter for 25-year-old Emily Gigacz and Nick Fogarty, 27 – it’s what brought them together.
The pair met through mutual friends at a nightclub and after a year of hanging out, realised there was a spark. “We have very similar personality types and the same strange sense of humour,” smiles Emily. “We couldn’t imagine life without each other.”
After Nick proposed while holidaying in the US, the couple began planning their winery wedding for February 7, 2015. “We had lots of colours, bright flowers, greenery, pendant lights and timber furniture,” describes Emily. “The ceremony was held in front of the vineyard at Glen Erin at Lancefield under a magnificent archway covered in bright, colourful flowers.”
Teams from The Style Co. and Dann Event Hire worked together to bring Emily’s rustic vision to life. “They covered the ceiling thick with oak foliage, ivy and ferns and drops of lighting, transforming the space to create an indoor forest feel,” praises Emily.
For the bride, the most memorable moment of the day was seeing Nick’s “smiling but nervous” face as she walked down the aisle. Nick says seeing Emily appear at the ceremony took his breath away. “She looked unbelievably stunning,” he smiles.

Emily says being “super organised” with a diary and reminders is the key to a stress-free wedding day.
“Nick and I could’t have been happier and I think that rubbed off on everyone who was a part of our wedding,” smiles the bride.
