Kirsty singlehandedly planned her and Cameron’s rustic country wedding while he studied, giving him an incredible surprise on the day.
On January 27, 2018 high school sweethearts Kirsty and Cameron wed 13 years after becoming an item. Exchanging intimate vows written by themselves, the two 27-year-olds became one in front of 100 guests at Ocean View Estates Winery & Restaurant in Queensland.
“The boys arrived by helicopter and the girls arrived by horse and carriage – the same that was used by the Queen in the Royal Jubilee in the 1970s,” Kirsty says. “Our rings were delivered by Luna, the white barn owl who flew down the middle of the aisle to land on Cameron’s hand.”
Guests were treated to games, live music, and an In The Booth boutique photobooth for entertainment.
Various vendors praised Kirsty’s event planning, even suggesting she open her own business as a wedding coordinator.
When asked what they would change about her day, Brisbane pair Kirsty and Cameron say “honestly, nothing.”
“We’ve had this conversation and neither of us can think of anything. It was so much fun and magical in every way. A true accurate reflection of the people that we are.”

As most weddings go, Kirsty and Cameron’s day wasn’t without hiccups. Unfortunately Kirsty’s original wedding dress was ruined by an alterations company, and she had to choose a second gown off the rack two days before the wedding.
Champagne Wedding Carriages provided the fairy tale transport for Kirsty and her bridesmaids.
Kirsty and Cameron exchanged rings purchased from Michael Hill Jeweller.
Kirsty thanked guests with succulents grown eight months prior from cuttings from her Grandmother’s garden.
