A community effort saves the day for Keili and Zach’s White Chapel Kalbar wedding

It was love in rain, hail or shine for Queensland lovebirds Keili and Zach. They had planned their perfect wedding… only for their dream venue to flood two hours before the ceremony. Luckily, White Chapel Kalbar saved the day.

“Zach & I had initially planned our wedding to be at the lovely Kooroomba Lavender Farm & Vineyards in Boonah, however when the venue flooded, we needed to find a whole new venue and food in two hours!” remember Keili and Zach of their October 21, 2022 wedding day.

When disaster struck, it seemed unthinkable that Keili and Zach’s wedding could go ahead. However, with some of their 87 guests travelling from interstate,  the couple knew the show must go on. Putting out the call for help, Keili and Zach were amazed at how the Kalbar community rallied around them to make sure the celebration went ahead.

Miraculously, a catering company came forward and sprang into action to prepare a feast for 87 guests with two hours notice. “We then stumbled across our saving venue: White Chapel Kalbar!” says Keili. “We quickly got in contact with the team there. Thankfully they were able to come together and create a whole new special day for us.”

Despite all odds, Keili made it to the aisle right on time. The bride wore a stunning modern gown with a romantic lace train, paired with white heels, elegant jewellery, and a huge smile. Fortuitously, the charming aesthetic of White Chapel Kalbar fit perfectly with the couples’ soft pink and white colour scheme.

After celebrating with their wedding surrounded by friends and family, Keili and Zach remember the day fondly despite the stress and last minute venue change. “Regardless of the dramatic changes on the day, our guests still had an incredible time,” says Keili. “We have these incredible memories that will live on forever to cherish.”

The bride said it was impossible to choose a favourite vendor after the teams from the initial venue and White Chapel Kalbar worked so tirelessly to put together a beautiful wedding in just two hours. “We are just grateful to be able to have these incredible memories from our lifetime movie wedding!” Keili joked.

“White Chapel Kalbar and Kooroomba Lavender Farm were amazing. We certainly wouldn’t have been able to have a wedding without either of these venues and would highly recommend both of them to any couple looking for beautiful country wedding locations.”
