A vintage country wedding at Mt Panorama, NSW: Jacqui & Lachlan

By: /Updated on: March 16, 2022

“We aren’t flashy and could never envision anything other than a simple, casual affair.”

Despite the laid back style of NSW couple Jacqueline McKeown and Lachlan Davis, (Lachlan’s motto to most things is “it’ll be right”) their vintage country wedding at the famous Mt Panorama in Bathurst, NSW – home of the Bathurst 1000 motor race – was elegant and fun and “seemed to come together effortlessly,” looking more “amazing” than Jacqui could ever have imagined.

Their engagement at the mountain’s peak after just nine months together inspired a wedding in the same area, at the picturesque Alogna of Mt Panorama Estate.

Jacqui, 23, wore an ivory Nicolina gown with beautiful lace detailing which set the style of the nuptials; classic, vintage, country.

Dusty pink and black was the colour palette, with the bridesmaids wearing floor length one-shoulder gowns of the feminine hue whilst Lachlan, 24, and his groomsmen were dressed in classic black suits which they hired for “quality, without the big price tag.”

Paul Fisher conducted the ceremony, chosen for his cool and casual approach; “He was our kind of celebrant,” says the bride, and the 66 guests partied late into the night with local husband and wife band, Blonde 182.

Jacqui says, “There was nothing I would change about our wedding; the vendors were amazing and our guests thoroughly enjoyed their night.”

She adds, “Although Lach and I worked very had to save, our wedding is an example that you can have elegance and great fun on a modest budget.”

Certainly is! Congratulations!

“Our florist was simply amazing!” praises the bride. Blooms included white and dusty pink roses, white hydrangeas and dusty miller, secured elegantly with ivory ribbon.

The theming of the reception venue was a joint effort between Jacqui and her mum, the venue, and her florist. Tables were adorned with country-style flowers, candle holders wrapped in lace and twine and pots of honey for guests to take home, generously donated by the neighbouring Queen Bee Honey.

Jacqui and Lachlan continued the celebrations on a Palm Cove honeymoon staying at Peppers Beach Club & Spa and enjoying “perfect” sunny swimming weather every day.
