Hayley & Dave’s relaxed beachside celebration at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa
Many couples we see are moving away from rigid traditions in favour of intentional, relaxed celebrations. For Hayley and Dave, their day at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa was a masterclass in modern destination weddings. Already legally married, they skipped the formal ceremony entirely, choosing instead to focus on meaningful moments with their closest family and friends.

Having gotten ready at the resort, Hayley looked effortlessly chic in a lace dress with a front split, holding a classic white frangipani bouquet styled by Sofitel Fiji’s floral team. Dave kept things cool and refined in a linen jacket paired with tailored shorts, perfectly suited to the tropical setting.
The couple met guests at Sunset Beachfront as the afternoon light softened over Denarau Island. Rather than a traditional aisle walk, pre-dinner drinks flowed naturally while local musicians Redbits set the mood with acoustic guitar and ukulele. Under a timber arbour decorated with white florals, their friend Paul gave a brief introduction before Hayley and Dave exchanged personal vows right on the sand.
As dusk fell, guests transitioned to an intimate beachfront setup for dinner. Long banquet tables styled with lush tropical greenery and flickering candles lined the shore. The menu opened with fresh Atlantic tuna tartar and slow-cooked pork belly, followed by braised beef short ribs and roasted Atlantic salmon.
The celebration reached its peak when a brief firework display lit up the night sky over the ocean, opening the dance floor as Redbits switched to a lively three-piece band. From barefoot vows on the beach to an afterparty at Republik, Hayley and Dave created a day defined by ease, connection, and pure Fijian warmth.
