What do Disney on Ice, Summer Bay and a helicopter all have in common?
That would be the proposal of Donna Elsegood and Adam Marchant, both 27. The West Australian couple became engaged during a surprise holiday organised by Adam. “We arrived in Sydney and ticked off many of my childhood dreams of seeing Disney on Ice and going to the set of Home And Away,” explains Donna. But the dream trip didn’t end there, with the couple heading north to Queensland’s Hamilton Island.
“We stayed at a beautiful resort and on our final days there we took a helicopter flight to the Great Barrier Reef,” says Donna. It was after landing on White Haven beach that Adam dropped to one knee.
A love of pink and whiskey – the bride and groom’s only challenge was incorporating their passions into their classic wedding on November 28, 2014. “We gave all the men a mini Jack Daniel’s bottle as their bomboniere,” smiles Donna. “The girls all got a hot pink lip gloss, which added to the small pink detail on the tables.”
Donna and Adam have a strong connection to family and therefore chose to include loved ones wherever possible. “We had all of our siblings in the bridal party and both our mothers signed our marriage certificate,” says Donna. “Adam’s sister also made our wedding cake.”

Donna and Adam were married at Mosman Park Golf Course in WA.
“I have always wanted the fairy tale wedding and the princess dress,” explains Donna.
