Katie Maynard and Ricky Angwin’s DIY farm wedding was a family affair.
Katie’s cousin and sister were a part of the large bridal party and Ricky’s dad was his best man.
The family also pitched in with crafting the rustic-themed celebrations, from flower arranging to making the centrepieces.
“We planned and created a simple DIY wedding focused on having a fantastic party with our nearest and dearest,” Katie, 28, says.
Katie and Ricky, 35, met “on a questionable online dating site where we were both about to delete our profiles!” laughs the bride. They wed at St Matthew’s Guildford on March 20, 2015 in front of 90 friends and family.
The Perth pair held their reception at Chapel Farm, Middle Swan, which provided the rustic country charm they were after.
“The reception was a very relaxed affair with a friend providing acoustic songs for the guests and a DIY photo booth for some memorable snaps,” Katie says.

The bridesmaids looked stunning in lilac gowns from Exclusively Bridesmaids.
Katie hopes people take inspiration from her DIY success. “I want to show other brides that you can do most of the planning and creating yourself without getting stressed,” she says.
