Bridgett and Levi drink in 360-degree water views at Acqua Viva on The Swan wedding

Perched right out over the water on Perth’s Swan River, this Acqua Viva on The Swan wedding was all about breathtaking sunset views.

Water lovers Bridgett and Levi wed on February 28, 2020. Their classically-styled wedding celebration started at a local hall in North Beach; their nuptials conducted by a family friend.

Following their Perth wedding ceremony, photographer Michael Williamson took them and their bridal party to some popular locations for wedding photos. This included the historical grounds at Cottesloe Civic Centre, where Bridgett’s parents had their wedding photos taken, and the natural surrounds of Kings Park Perth.

Then it was on to Acqua Viva on The Swan for the celebrations to begin. Here, Bridgett recalls their day.

Our guests went early to Acqua Viva and had delicious appetizers. The food was amazing. We had prawns as an entree, and fish and lamb as the main meal, which we’d tasted before and loved. Acqua Viva uses fresh ingredients from local markets and Australian wines.

Levi and I love the water. We loved the 360-degree views and of the Swan River and parklands and floor-to-ceiling windows. We loved how you could see all this from the bridal table. It also had a really nice jetty for sunset shots.

The wedding coordinator and staff at Acqua Viva were very understanding and accommodating and wanted to make our day special.

We’d do the entire day the same all over again – we just loved it!

Bridgett wore a strapless A-line wedding dress from Bride’s Selection, flanked by her maids in blush lace dresses purchased from Forever New.

“My dress was a beautiful princess flowy dress with sparkles. I loved it!” says Bridgett. “The bridesmaid dresses from Forever New matched the classy Acqua Viva setting.”

Perth photographer Michael Williamson of MW Fotografi captured the couple’s ceremony, wedding party portraits and reception.

“Michael was very relaxed and caught moments unique to the day,” says Bridgett. “We respect the amount of effort he put in on the day. He made us feel very comfortable.”

The couple hired De La Rosa Cakes to create their romantic style wedding cake.

“De La Rosa Cakes did a three-tier, two-flavour cake for us. One flavour was passionfruit, the other chocolate. It was looked and tasted perfect. She was very professional and a lovely person.”
