The future of wedding suits is personal: Why bespoke is redefining menswear for modern grooms
Are Australian couples using AI to plan their wedding?
It’s everywhere. AI, the search engine that seems to be surpassing all the others. But is it really as popular as we are being led to believe? And are local couples using AI to plan their wedding? We separate the fact from the fiction… with data.
If you listened only to the tech headlines, you’d think robots were walking down the aisle and ChatGPT was choosing the centrepieces.
But at Easy Weddings, we prefer numbers over noise.
Our 2026 Annual Wedding Industry Report, surveying more than 4,000 Australian couples, asked a simple question: How much is Artificial Intelligence actually influencing real-life wedding planning?
The answer isn’t dramatic. But we do think that it is important.
It’s time to separate fact from fiction.
Fiction: AI is replacing the wedding planner.
Fact: AI is the new admin assistant.
There’s been industry anxiety that AI would replace professional planners, stylists, and creatives.
The data tells a calmer story.
Yes, there are couples who are turning to some AI tools, but perhaps not in the way you think. Our data tells us that 32% of couples say they’ve used AI at some point in their planning journey. But they’re not using it to choose their venue, photographer, or celebrant.
They’re using it to overcome “blank page syndrome.” You know the feeling? There’s nothing scarier than starting from nothing, so AI can help to prompt that page to have a few words, get the party started.
What are couples relying on when turning to AI? The answer might surprise you.
The most common uses include:
- Drafting vows and speeches when the words won’t come.
- Creating a rough runsheet to visualise the day.
- Polishing enquiry emails before hitting send.
In other words: AI is helping couples start the process — not finish it.
It’s support work. Not decision-making.
Fiction: Couples want an “AI-generated” wedding.
Fact: The human premium has never been higher.
Here’s the stat that matters most for suppliers:
88% of couples say personal connection and trust are the primary reasons they book a specific vendor.
In a world increasingly filled with polished, AI-generated content, couples are gravitating toward what feels real. Raw. Personal. So, while the buzz around might be that AI is here to takeover, the reality is much different. Couples still want to deal with real people.
They want:
- Vendors who “get” them
- Storytelling that reflects their relationship
- Creatives who bring lived experience, emotional intelligence, and nuance
AI can generate a draft vow. It cannot read a room. It cannot calm nerves five minutes before the ceremony. It cannot capture a fleeting look between partners.
The demand for authentic human connection isn’t shrinking — it’s strengthening.

Fiction: AI is a threat to your business.
Fact: AI is your secret weapon for conversion.
If there’s one behavioural shift suppliers need to pay attention to in 2026, it’s this:
Responsiveness is now the number 1 factor in winning a booking.
Couples are planning in an on-demand world. They expect speed, clarity, and seamless communication.
And this is where AI becomes an advantage.
Couples are increasingly discovering suppliers through conversational search and AI-driven recommendations. Internally, suppliers are using AI to:
- Draft faster, more professional responses
- Create enquiry templates
- Automate follow-ups
- Reduce admin lag
Tools like instant messaging, templated responses, and workflow automation aren’t replacing you — they’re helping you operate at the “speed of the couple.”
The faster you remove friction, the more likely you are to convert.
The 2026 Verdict
AI isn’t changing what couples want.
They still want:
- A beautiful day
- Emotional moments
- Seamless execution
- A team they trust
What is changing is how they get there.
The fact: Couples are using AI to save time on the “boring stuff” so they can invest more time — and more budget — into the human stuff.
For wedding professionals, that’s not a threat. It’s an opportunity.
For you as a supplier, the goal shouldn’t be to compete with AI. It should be to use AI to handle your admin, so you can be more “human” for your clients.
